ˢᴼᴹᴱ ᶠᵁᴺ ᶠᴬᶜᵀˢ ᴬᴮᴼᵁᵀ ᴸᴬᴰᵞᴮᵁᴳˢ *Ladybugs aren’t bugs they’re beetles. *A ladybug has eyes but it doesn’t see very well. Ladybugs can only see the difference between dark and light. The antenna is what helps a ladybug smell, taste, and feel its way around. *A lot of ladybugs produce toxins that make them distasteful to birds and other would-be predators. These noxious substances are linked to a ladybug’s color; the brighter the ladybug, the stronger the toxins. *The average lifespan of a ladybug is 2 to 3 years. *An adult ladybug can eat up to 50 aphids in a day. *Some ladybugs have no spots and others have up to 20 spots. *They have two sets of wings. The outer set is the hard shell for protection, and the inner set are what it uses to fly. *There are about 5,000 different species of ladybugs in the world. They also can be yellow, orange, brown, pink or even all black.

What is necessary, after all, is only this: Solitude, vast inner solitude. To walk inside of yourself and meet no one for hours. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

Bunches of rosehips! Found these on my walk yesterday and I was in love with the autumn colors! Although it’s still pretty warm for this time of the year, I see changing colors everywhere.

I wish to wander off the world, Leave through the front door of my mind, Wrapped in the silence left by storms Without one single glance behind. For the sky hangs low and heavy, A blanket draped over the trees, The air feels smaller, claustrophobic, Like I’ve forgotten how to breathe. And as the distant thunder rolls I long to chase it where it roams, To arrive somewhere brand new And have it feel like coming home. ~ Erin Hanson . One from the archives. One of those rare foggy mornings! Even more rare is the fact that I was out with the camera that early ☺️ Inspired by Susie’s @soulfulwanderings Gorgeously moody images of fog and mist of the beautiful French countryside! ❤️

And maybe I loved you in another life and promised you that I would find you, somewhere on the other side. Or maybe you’ve always been in my subconscious. Nudging me this way and pulling me that way until I found you. I don’t know. But I do know I’ve felt you more than one life should allow. ~ J.M Storm . . I love pebbles and stones on the beach smoothened by the waves. The colors and textures talk of days weathered. I feel like they have stories to tell...

I have been in love more times than one, thank the Lord. Sometimes it was lasting whether active or not. Sometimes it was all but ephemeral, maybe only an afternoon, but not less real for that. They stay in my mind, these beautiful people, or anyway beautiful people to me, of which there are so many. You and you and you, whom I have the fortune to meet, or maybe missed. Love, love, love, it was the core of my life, from which of course comes the word for the heart. And, oh, have I mentioned that some of them were men and some were women and some – now carry my revelation with you – were trees. Or places. Or music flying above the names of their makers. Or clouds, or the sun which was the first, and the best, the most loyal for certain, who looked so faithfully into my eyes, every morning. So I imagine such love of the world – its fervency, its shining, its innocence and anger to give of itself I imagine this is how it began. “Of love” ~ Mary Oliver

Once I was running from all that haunted me, To the dark I was succumbing to what hurt unbearably, Searching for the one thing that would set my sad soul free. In time I stumbled upon it. An inner calm and peace; and now I’m beginning to see and to believe, In who I’m becoming and all I’ve yet to be. ~ Lang Leav

What I want in my life is to be dazzled. To cast aside the weight of facts, and maybe even float a little, Above this difficult world. ~ Mary Oliver . A series I would like to call “Chasing ladybugs” And that’s exactly what I did that evening... I focused on chasing these lovely creatures. With nothing going through my mind but the single focus of wanting to walk their path. Letting thoughts not crowd my mind...

The most beautiful things in life are not things. They’re people and places and memories and pictures. They’re feelings and moments and smiles and laughter. . Inspired by Stefanie’s @sevensleeper_ recent post about posting what we feel like, I’m posting this picture because I liked the pop of red in it. One of those times when people walking right into your frame works for you! ☺️
