Our #WomenCrushWednesday this week are (L-R) Diana Sue Uqualla, Havasupai Tribe, and Jamescita Peshlakai, Navajo Nation and Arizona Senator. These women fight to protect water sources in the Grand Canyon region from dangerous uranium mining. Uranium pollution has a long history of affecting Tribal lands and many hidden health effects-- reproductive issues, kidney diseases, forms of cancer, etc. Uqualla and Peshlaskai are working to implement a permanent ban to protect their communities. #WCW #WaterQualityMonth

When in doubt, follow the money. Gwich'in activists are fighting to protect the Arctic Refuge from drilling -- and they're taking the fight to the banks and shareholders who fund these projects. #ProtectTheArctic #StandWithTheGwichin

“Our life is a faint tracing on the surface of mystery, like the idle curved tunnels of leaf miners on the face of a leaf. We must somehow take a wider view, look at the whole landscape, really see it, and describe what’s going on here. Then we can at least wail the right question into the swaddling band of darkness, or, if it comes to that, choir the proper praise.” — Annie Dillard Your Ray of Hope taken by photographer Patricia Magaret. TAKE ACTION: Your senators can build the pressure on Moscow Mitch. Call 855-980-2308 & tell your senators to demand a vote on election security funding! The voting machines used by millions of voters in over a dozen states are susceptible to hacking. Foreign powers have interfered in the 2016 and 2018 elections and continue to attack our election infrastructure, making us vulnerable during the critical 2020 election. If our elections aren't independent and free from interference, our voices will not be heard -- endangering the health and well-being of our democracy, our communities, and our planet. The House recently allocated $600 million in election security funding to upgrade these systems to include paper ballots, the best way to secure voting infrastructure, experts say. But Sen. "Moscow Mitch" McConnell has blocked bipartisan election security legislation from coming to a vote. Call 855-980-2308 to be connected with your senator's office and demand a vote on election security funding! #MoscowMitch #ProtectOurVote #ElectionSecurity
