"A few years ago, my daughter asked if I would help her paint a mural on her wall in her bedroom. Being a seasoned father, I went to my go to response of “No” which I use instinctively for all new requests that will involve time, money and especially alterations to our house. After thinking about it for a while, I realized that I was saying no by default and not really considering what she was requesting. She loves art and I love art so what the heck, why not? We could always paint over it if it doesn’t turn out. . . . right? So she did some research and found an image of a mountain lake that I had never seen before. It was emerald blue with jagged peaks that seemed to explode right out of the shoreline stretching hundreds of feet into a beautiful sunset. Pristine lodgepole pines surrounded the rest of the shoreline in thick enough groves that you could almost smell them just looking at the picture. We spent several days blending in the sky, sketching out the mountains and trying our best to make some happy little trees. When we were done we were certain that we had not created a masterpiece but we did it together and we were now extremely familiar with a place we had never been. So naturally, my daughter asked, “Can we go there?” and I said “No” because you know. . . instincts. This year I changed my mind and I’m glad I did." #MyCanonStory Photo Credit: @mywisconsin Camera: #Canon EOS 5DS R Lens: EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM Aperture: f/11 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/2 sec Focal Length: 16mm

"This was taken on day 7 of an 8 day trek through the Peruvian Andes. After 70ish miles of hiking through all sorts of weather, we were so lucky to get some clear skies. We actually started out the day earlier than normal in hopes the clouds would hold off until later, which they did. We camped down where the river meets the lake and later that evening the clouds mostly covered the range. Simply sitting here watching the clouds roll by while Andean Condors flew around was a moment I won’t forget. Being close enough to see in between their wings (kinda like their fingers) was pretty incredible." #MyCanonStory Photo Credit: @seanhaselden Camera: #Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Lens: EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Aperture: f/11 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/1250 sec Focal Length: 24mm

Photos by #CanonExplorerOfLight @bobanddawndavis : “There is nothing like seeing the king of the jungle, a mature male lion in his domain. Nothing fazes the king! My heart quickened as we came upon this male and his pride resting after having fed for the evening. I'm continually amazed at the quality of the images I can create no matter what the conditions. This photograph was created just after the sun had set at ISO: 12800! I'm old school, shot a lot of film during my days as a photojournalist, never dreamed of shooting at ISOs this high. But this allowed me to capture this male lion being himself in his pride lands, my heart still quickens when I look at this photograph. EOS 1DXMII, EF600mm f4 vII, ISO: 12800, Aperture: 8, Shutter: 1/500, White Balance 6500 Kelvin. Elephants are led by the Matriarch of the heard, this young female leads her baby to the watering hole after the Matriarch signaled. It's so much fun watching a young baby elephant trying to gain command of their trunk and learn to use it for drinking water, adorable. Cheetahs have to be my favorite of the big cats, they are full of personality, much like a big house cat, playful, ever curious, and very entertaining to watch when they're bored.”

"While visiting St. Augustine this summer, we stopped in at The Fountain of Youth, which has dozens of Peacocks wandering the grounds. They love posing for photos in all their fanned out glory. My first time using the new EOS R, so I quite pleased with the images I captured." #MyCanonStory Photo Credit: @myronlphoto Camera: #Canon EOS R Lens: EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Aperture: f/4 ISO: 400 Shutter Speed: 1/250 sec Focal Length: 105mm
