Had a day off, and Mark lent me his spare car for a road trip. My eyes lit up when I saw it was an old beat up Subaru. I've owned three of them in the US, all of which were so old and crap they had personalities. This one is no different, so we became fast friends. For example, the fuel gauge shows half full when I turn a hard left, but shows it's completely emtpy on uphill right turns! It's also overdue for a big service, so fingers crossed she doesn't explode on me :). I think New Zealand has my favorite driving roads so far. Twists and turns, awesome views, and no potholes! I headed towards the west coast via Arthur's pass, just breathtaking. Driving on the left took a little getting used to. At first, I was having to constantly tell myself to keep left. After a while it started to feel natural, and I could take in the view more. Another day of learning new things, and hopefully there will be more road trips in the future!
