Hey Sistas, let’s talk.💕
As a forty-six-year-old woman, I realized that my body wouldn't look and move the way it did when I was in my twenties, and that's ok. My body has been through many changes the past decade, and as I continue to learn more about what works and doesn't work for me, I will adjust accordingly.
I have stopped comparing myself to those young folks whose bodies are still growing and changing. I learned to love my body as it is now and during every stage of the changes that take place. I have stopped shaming myself for not looking a particular way or for not reaching my goals on a timeline that is unattainable.
Instead, I focus on making small sustainable changes and in doing so form habits that become my norm. I no longer have the mindset of the "overnight" results. Every day I make decisions and put into action those choices to ensure that I am working towards the outcome I said I wanted.
It wasn't until I accepted, loved, and appreciated All things about my body that the transformation of my mind began; and once I had the right mindset, I knew it was only a matter of time before my body transformed as well. For me, it is not a matter of choice but a lifestyle.
Don't be ashamed of what your body looks like; instead, show it love for all that it has done for you. Figure out what it is you want. Create a plan, then go put in the work. 𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯!
