I know lots of you enjoy these and find them useful so I’m going to try to post them more often :) Easing my way into intervals with this workout I did this morning followed by a body burner. Sharing both below! Speed work . 15 min warm-up. . 10 x 1 min at 85-90% with less than a 1:30 min recovery jog for each. . 10 min cool down. DETAILS: . Warm-up -> treadmill on 7.0 - 7.2 . Speed -> treadmill on 9.4 - 9.6 which is about 4:00 min/km IF all the conversion tables I have looked up are right! . Recovery -> treadmill on 6.4 . Cool down -> treadmill on 6.4 Always on 1% incline. POST RUN CIRCUIT: 1. 20 x Squat with bicep curl and shoulder press (5 lbs dumbbells) 2. 10 x (4 plank rows + 4 twisted mountain climbers) 3. 2 x (4 push-ups + 4 in & outs) | 2 x (3 push-ups + 3 in & outs) | 2 x (2 push-ups & 2 in and outs) | 4 x (1 push-up & 1 in and out) Repeat set 2-3 times #workout #workoutroutine #workoutcircuit

Long post... please read to the end! ⠀ ⠀ Yesterday started with a visit to the hospital to have a heart monitor placed on me that will remain on for 14 days while doctors monitor my heart rate & dizzy/fainting spells. It’s a very small device that’s stuck onto your chest, most people won’t even notice it on. ⠀ ⠀ BUT, then I was verbally bullied by an adult coworker for having it on. Not only did she point it out in-front of others, she proceeded to gawk & make fun of it saying “what the hell is that? Why do you have that freaky thing on you? Your so weird!” ⠀ ⠀ Bullying at any age is wrong. Bullying for any reason is wrong. You don’t know what someone else is going through. You don’t know why things in their life are the way they are. And it is certainly not your right to judge, tear down and attack someone else. ⠀ ⠀ I’m not ashamed of this device on me for the next two weeks. I’m not ashamed of my health journey. I love my Apple Watch. >> Yes it kinda sounds dumb to be in love with an item. I know, I totally agree. However, this single watch has helped keep me motivated to workout on A LOT of days that I just didn’t want to. >> I can start competitions with my friends. Aka I’m so competitive that I will legit go on a 4 mile walk one day just to win. >> I also LOVE seeing my calories burned after a good workout. I am not fixated on how many calories I burn. I just love seeing the number and trying to burn more the next day! >> I am motivated to close all 3 of my rings each day. These are your move goal, exercise goal, and stand goal. I HATE going to bed without closing these rings. >> So yes, my Apple Watch is a necessity every day. I love knowing how much physical activity I’ve gotten in the day and what areas I need to improve on.

I often hear this question come up. When you enter a program, that means you are ready for a change. If you have these questions, maybe assess if you are truly ready for that change.⁠ ⁠ It all comes down to your choice of what you want to consume. Do you want alcohol? Then have some. Do you want a cheat meal? Then have one. Those are choices that you can make. These things will not be built into your plan, so making these choices comes with the consequence of a longer timeline of trying to achieve your results.⁠ ⁠ Close your eyes and picture the best version of yourself. DROP SETS - @fitness_walkthrough ⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ Drop sets are a very time efficient way to add some volume to your training program. But though there is evidence showing drop sets can result in similar hypertrophy compared to straight sets, it’s important to know their limitations:⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ Because they are disproportionately fatiguing and need to be taken close to failure, drop sets on major compounds early in your workout may compromise the total volume you are able to perform.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ To work around this, I prefer to save drop sets for the *last* movement for a muscle group, usually in a moderate to higher rep range. Drop sets are also an excellent programming strategy for an overreaching week when fatigue levels aren’t as much of a concern because you will be deloading the following week.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ One final way to implement drop sets, is to help get you through your workout quickly if an obligation comes up. Rather than performing 3-4 straight sets with traditional rest periods, you can hit your primaries first and then move to drop sets for all your accessory work. This will get you in and out of the gym MUCH faster.⠀⠀ -⠀⠀ @james.krieger has an AMAZING overview of all the research about drop sets in his research review. The two were hired to carry water from the river to the village well. ⁣ ⁣ Bruno was thrilled to be making money carrying buckets. But Pablo wasn’t sure. His back ached. His hands were blistered. “Bruno, instead of lugging buckets, let’s build a pipeline.” Bruno replied “A pipeline! Why? I make a dollar a day carrying buckets! We have the best job in town, weekends off and two weeks’ paid vacation every year. We’re set for life!” ⁣ ⁣ But Pablo decided to build his pipeline in his spare time. He knew it would be hard work and would take a year or two before it would pay big dividends. ⁣ ⁣ So while Bruno relaxed on evenings and weekends, Pablo kept digging his pipeline. It flowed while he ate.💦 It flowed while he slept. 💦 It flowed on the weekends when he played. 💦 The more water flowed into the village, the more the money flowed into Pablo’s pockets! ⁣💰 ⁣ Pablo learnt a lot and decided to teach Bruno and others how to build a pipeline even faster, then have them teach others. Calf raises😈 Try this calf variation to really work the calves as well work on a bit of balance with the dumbbells. Do 10 sets with your feet facing forward, followed by 10 with your toes pointed inward. Week 2 of the strength program focusing on muscular conditioning/hypertrophy. Two movements which I actually enjoy a lot. * I should be hinging at my hips a bit more, just my hamstrings are a little sore from the high volume squats on Monday. 4 things I’m focusing on here: - Hip hinge - Bracing my core (IAP) - Neutral neck position - Full ROM * I’ve been focusing a lot on some corrective work as my accessories and IR/ER and notice it’s been helping me with my OHP. Hello from Myrtle Beach 🌤👙⁣ ⁣ It’s been a few days since I’ve been to the gym but I’m definitely going tonight! I’m also itching to go to the beach because the weather here is PERFECT to catch some sun and get in the water. ⁣ ⁣ Trying my best to keep y’all posted because I’ve been talking to a bunch of new people, which is great because I love meeting new people, especially from this platform because we all uplift and help one another. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve also been getting dm’s about posting more stories! I love watching @libbychristensen ’s stories because I love her personality and the effort she makes into making each story look so organized and cute. I’ve also notice how much we have in common.
