Living in Utah is a love-hate relationship for me. My love comes from the fact that my ENTIRE family is within a 20-minute radius. My hate comes from WINTER. ⁣ ⁣ My parents didn’t teach me winter sports and they hibernate when it’s cold. I grew up doing much of the same. Learning to ski or snowboard as an adult is terrifying. Turns out, you’re so much more aware of the likelihood of injury as an adult than as a child. So middle-ground for me has been snowshoeing. ⁣ ⁣ If you’re in a similar winter wonderland and aren’t obsessed with outdoor sports, I recommend snowshoeing for a few reasons.⁣ 1. You can find canyon with trails to snowshoe on for free or a few bucks.⁣ 2. Snowshoes themselves are a decent deal ($50-$200.)⁣ 3. Kids can easily pick it up, too!4. If you’ve got tiny kiddos, you can carry them in a backpack carrier (we found ours on the Facebook Marketplace for $50.)⁣ 5. You get workout. My heart is always beating out of my chest!⁣ 6. You get Vitamin D (which I’m always low on) and fresh air in the middle of winter.⁣ 7. It’s good bonding time with friends and family. It’s not terribly hard to carry a conversation while stomping up snowy hills.

This #workoutwednesday we wanted to share this awesome booty burning video by @ellliefordham.pt Tag a workout friend and give it a go!⁣ Happy booty burning 😃⁣ ⁣ How to take the booty burn to the next level 🔥🍑 These bad boys are great for activating the glutes before progressing into heavier leg exercises and are great for working on your coordination and stability ⚡️ Ideally use a bench (softer padding) and line up a bosu ball directly in front to elevate the opposite leg. KEY TIPS: Place your hands behind your head to support your neck and tuck your chin. DO NOT let your head drop back as you drop your hips. Make sure you keep both hips facing directly towards the sky and keep your ribs contained (don’t flare out and hyperextend your back). Actively create a mind to muscle connection by squeezing your glutes on the way up and slow down the tempo. My favorite style of training is to mix weight training with some functional movements and to combine some heavier lifts with some with lighter slow controlled movements!! 😅💪🏼 This method of training has helped me put on size while staying lean and feeling great! Welp my peeps, I seriously cannot shake this sickness. 😭 ⠀⠀ Me and both my sons got whatever is in the air. Headache, congestion, sore throat, cough, you name it; we have it. 🤧 ⠀⠀ I have had zero energy to workout, as much as I want to, I’ve been fighting it because I know I need rest. I figured I could get in a good stretch session in, and maybe go for a walk later. 🚶🏾‍♀️ ⠀⠀ Today kind of opened my eyes a little more to the goals I have set for myself. 💆🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀ I had to call into work today because I literally can’t think straight. My husband was like, Rii, you are in no condition to go to work today. So I didn’t. 🙅🏽‍♀️ ⠀⠀ I realized more than ever the dream of becoming a CPT and Nutritionist is high on my priority list. I want to be able to just work from where I want to without any worry or having to feel like I have to explain myself to someone. 👩🏽‍💼 ⠀⠀ I want to be able to sit here and cuddle my sons and husband when they are sick without having to leave them behind.
