How adorable are these little mini eggplants? It’s funny because when I bought my plants for my garden this year, these were my last choice. I honestly only bought them because pickings were slim. 🤣 However, they have been the MOST fruitful thus far of all of my vegetation! I don’t usually eat a lot of eggplant so I guess I need to start looking for recipes on Pinterest! 🍆Anyone growing anything interesting or unique in their gardens this year? #gardenwitch #witchesofinstagram #witch #bruja #gardening #growyourown #greenwitch #fruitsoftheearth #workingtheland #minieggplants #mywitchygarden #brujasofinstagram

And then there is Myanmar 🇲🇲 A country that quickly became my favourite in the world, and definitely one I cannot wait to go back to. The culture and the people mixed with the beautiful sceneries everywhere are what I loved the most about my time in Myanmar/Burma. . . . . . . . . . . #myanmar #burma #hsipaw #agriculture #farmers #shanstate #naturalviews #mountainview #lushgreen #worldpackingcanuck #peopleofmyanmar #burmese #workingtheland #seetheworld #traveltheworld #worldexplorer #globetrotter #viajero #mochilero #voyageur #travellife #travelphotos #travelpics #instatrip #passport #backpackerlife #digitalnomad #photographylover #photographerlife #vidadefotografo

The woods will soon be full of smoke again. I can smell summer coming (ever the optimist). Fair whack of charcoal stacked up but worth getting your order in before the weather changes as it’ll be gone before you can say “please may I order some of your wonderful, natural and sustainable British hardwood charcoal, please?” . . . . . . . #offgrid #offgriduk #woodland #woodlandmanagement #ruralenterprise #westcountry #northdevon #southmolton #bishopsnympton #roseash #sustainableliving #charcoalburner #adventure #britishwoodland #workingtheland #thegoodlife #westcountry #Britishcharcoal #lifeoffgrid #smallholding #peasantfarm #marketgarden #barbecue #cookingoncharcoal

Been a bit like this for a while now but Summer is on its way, I promise. No doubt everyone will want charcoal in one big hurry so if you’re in need of a good pile of the black stuff (especially if you’re wholesale) then it’s worth getting your order in now! . . . . . . . #offgrid #offgriduk #woodland #woodlandmanagement #ruralenterprise #westcountry #northdevon #southmolton #bishopsnympton #roseash #sustainableliving #charcoalburner #adventure #britishwoodland #workingtheland #thegoodlife #westcountry #Britishcharcoal #lifeoffgrid #smallholding #peasantfarm #marketgarden #barbecue #cookingoncharcoal

I’ve decided to find time for helping Gemma in our jungle of a vegetable garden. I now have Gardening hour, 6-7 in the morning. Turns out I quite enjoy it. View isn’t bad either. . . . . . . . #offgrid #offgriduk #woodland #woodlandmanagement #ruralenterprise #westcountry #northdevon #southmolton #bishopsnympton #roseash #sustainableliving #adventure #britishwoodland #workingtheland #thegoodlife #westcountry #lifeoffgrid #smallholding #peasantfarm #marketgarden #salad #landworkersalliance

What do you do as a family that brings you joy? > As we settle more into our life, in the country, we are loving working the land together, exploring our new oasis and just in awe of God’s canvas. My soul has never felt such a peace. > 🌳 Today, I mowed and was covered head to toe in mud. I loved every minute of it! 👩‍🌾 < My husband and our oldest, put the fountain, in our pond, while our youngest rested. The farm adventure has wiped her out. 😉 > We haven’t even set up any TVs. There is so much more to do...I love making our new house a home. I am excited to be all settled in. We’re so close! > This is a summer to remember. ❤️ > #farmwife #countrylife #godscanvas #farmhouse #farmlife #workingtheland #familytime #makingmemories #countrylifestyle #lifeisbetteronthefarm #oldbarn #oldsilo #nature #treelover #mindfulliving #activefamily #mythrivelife #newchapterinlife #nofilterneeded #summertoremember

His teacher said "I can tell you really work with him. He is so smart." . I said "Thank you." . I did not tell her that I let him watch "the truck show". This is not a cartoon. It's a show about construction equipment. He can tell you all about excavators, bull dozers, dump trucks, cherry pickers, and other construction-y type of stuff I know nothing about. It is his favorite topic ever and he tells everyone he meets about it. . This is Colton, age 4, on an excavator, digging holes with his Daddy.

I'm grateful for this spot, but what's even better is beyond those trees... hammocks and fire pits! At this vineyard, the wine is not all that's fine.

Posted @withrepost • @ meishasynnott Don’t waste these babies - embrace Grasscycling! ’Officially’ #grasscycling Refers to leaving clippings on the lawn, but I like to think of it as any re-purposing. Clippings are great for making mulch or adding to your compost (as long as done right). By using Grasscycling you can also make lighter work of your grass cutting endeavours and send less bags to landfill! To use as ‘mulch’ just leave on the lawn! Grass clippings contain a large % of water so breakdown quickly adding nitrogen back into the soil, help with water conservation, and get those worms doing their thing. Happy soil - happy life! If you don’t cut too much at any time (think height and frequency) and only mow when the grass is dry you will have better results. To use as compost make sure you mix with brown material. Or let it dry first. And always mix/aerate your compost well! We are loving @meishasynnott ‘s tips! ❤️❤️❤️ #composting #soilcarbon #carbon8 #mindset #jointheregeneration #soilmicrobes #workingtheland #consciousliving

Jason sat down (for a moment – we stopped him mid cup of tea!) to give an update about the latest on McIvor Farm. The first four months of this year was the driest period we can remember…then we had twice the rainfall of that period over two weeks during May. We’re not sure if the rain has come in too late and if it will set us up well for the winter but we’re hopeful and looking forward to seeing those clouds full over the coming months.

“Before the reward there must be labor. You plant before you harvest. You sow in tears before you reap in joy”- Ralph Ransom . The rains have slowed, and were able to get in the fields for planting. It’s such a busy time here. Everyone is running in a million directions trying to tackle all the hundreds of tasks that need to get done. I always miss my husband this time of year, he heads out early in the morning and doesn’t get back home until long after the kids and I go to bed. We see him for little snippets here and there when we run supper out to the field. The days get long and patience can run short. This season of planting is not only going on in the fields, but in my children’s hearts as well. It seems every few minutes some days there is teaching and correcting to do. When we’re in the busyness of the season it’s hard to sometimes see the reward. But keep looking to Him who sustains us in all things, where does my help come from? . “I lift up my eyes to the hills- Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, The Maker of heaven and earth Psalm 121:1-2 . . . #scriptureoftheday #christianparenting #seekgodfirst #joyinthejourney #mymamahood #farmfamily #familyfarm #dairyfarm #plantingseason #365homeschool #homeschoolfamily #countryliving #masseyferguson #plantingcorn #workingtheland #documentyourdays #embracingtheeveryday #farmwifelife #farmwife #midwest #getaftergrateful

Doing wood chip angels because @chipdrop came through! This app has bestowed some abundant riches upon us y'all! They dropped off an extraordinary amount of wood chips, chipped hedges and tree stumps to us today. It's free and it helps both them and us. We've already started creating a new ecosystem of this place...which was basically an old clay river bed. The orchard, garden beds, heavy wash areas, dead ground and compost heaps are all going to benefit exponentially! It's never a dull moment on the Wabi-Sabi homestead. In the last 2 days, we've planted raspberry canes in the new berry bed. B built our new compost system from some of the pallets that we collected the other day. I planted a screen of Australian tree ferns along the firepit border. Harvested some goodies. Spread out so much mulch. Bought some neem oil and came up with a spraying system for taking care of spider mites and chiggers...This Texas heat is perfect for the lil' buggers. Poor A.L.F is covered in chigger bites. But we made a dip for her and she's doing better. Have I mentioned how blessed and honoured I feel by our life. I love this work. At this rate we will be fully self sustainable/sufficient much faster than we anticipated. Exciting times! It feels so good to be blissfully exhausted from working the land everyday. 🌿💚🌿💚🌿💚🌿 #composting #simpleliving #slowliving #createyourownreality #backtonature #backtobalance #simplelife #protectourmother #homesteadersoftexas #texashomestead #selfsustainableliving #selfsustainable #lowwaste #lowwastefamily #givebacktotheland #thedream #exitthematrix #sustainableliving #gardeningforlife #homesteaders #homesteadlife #chipdrop #woodchips #workingtheland #escapethecity #backtominimal #mulch #followyourbliss #ecosystem #thefatoftheland

Another thing about #birding ...if you sit quietly long enough, not only do the birds not notice you but neither do the humans. Lol. I used to climb and hide in the trees when I was a kid. Feels like that now. Hard working papa never stops. #nature #outdoors #birding #workingtheland bad part of sitting in trees? Bugs crawl in your shorts.
