Do you feel like you have a balance between your overall wellness and your career as a nurse?
So many of us nurses neglect to take care of ourselves because we give so much to our patients!
I was the same way until about 6 months ago.. I would come home and complain that I was too tired to workout, too tired to eat healthy, etc.
I finally took control of my wellness and signed up for a 200hr yoga teacher training and not only did it change my overall health and wellness it changed me as a nurse!
Being so active for 8 straight weeks was exhausting in and of itself, but what I noticed was the increase in energy I had at work, a more positive mood, less stress, and overall I honestly became a better nurse!
Believe me, there are still many nights I come home and truly have nothing left in me and on those days, I drink wine🍷BUT most nights of the week I move my body for 30 minutes, whether it’s yoga, or now running as I train for a half marathon!
Start incorporating 30 minutes of movement a day into your life and watch how not only you will feel better, but see how you show up differently at your job! I promise it will give you MORE energy and LESS stress!
It is extremely hard to pour from an empty cup, you have got to fill yourself up before you can give your all to others!
