. ENG // In South Africa you can find zebra everywhere. You can spot them only in big parks like Pilanesberg and Kruger National Park, but also in smaller, national parks, while walking on foot or cycling amongst them. This zebra ran away the moment he heard us arrive. No matter how often we see one, it’s still special to be so close to these wild animals.

Zebras look more like donkeys than horses in-person and apparently they're black with white stripes - not the other way around 🤔 #maasaimara #zebra

🦓❤️ #zebra #wildlife #wildzebra #tanzania

The art of confusing lions with lines. They keep safe by blending into a stripy moving illusion. Zebras are fast, fancy and family oriented. Let's not buy their skins that's not cool. They need them, the few that are still out there. In Uganda's Lake Mburo National Park I took this picture up close. The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people. They occur in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains, and coastal hills. Some highlights from our safari day one: zebra, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, lion, cape buffalo, gazelle, and leopard (hiding in the photo). All three big cats had kills! We saw 4 of the “big five” in the first 90 minutes of entering the Maasai Mara. No rhinos today - not surprising sadly, as there are only a few left in the park. • • • • • • • #africa #kenya #maasaimara #wanderable #safari #honeymoon #africansafari #bigcats #maraserena #lioninthewild #cheetah #fourwheeldrive #kenyansafari #igersafrica #wildzebra #maraserenasafarilodge #safarihoneymoon #honeymoonsafari #africananimals

Throw back to the year 2000. Three of my friends and I took a trip to Namibia, Africa. We spent some time in Hodygos (pronounced Ho-day-gos), Windhoek, and visited an orphanage called The Ark. After our work was done, we took the B1 highway and spent 3 days on safari in Etosha. We stayed in a private chalet in Onguma. After a few hours sitting at a watering hole, suddenly you can hear something coming from the bush. It was like this slow, kind of shuffling and stomping knocking trees and bushes over and out from the bush comes a giant elephant! Nobody spoke from that moment on. We sat for what literally seemed like hours watching this majestic animal drink and spray water over itself. . We had our own 4x4 Combee that we drove, so after breakfast each day and once the gates were open, we drove out into the bush. The very next wild animal we saw was a giraffe. It brought its head up slowly from the treetops like a slow-motion movie and it’s jaw was moving side to side in this odd sweeping/chomping motion. I look over at my friend Carolyn to make sure that she was seeing this and she’s pushing on my shoulder several times as if to say are you seeing this? Then, another giraffe comes up right beside it. So very cool. . . Over the course of our stay there, we saw a white rhino....yes, it was a white rhino. We turn a corner he’s in a field not far from the road and he was, um, emptying his bladder. His head turns to look at us and we do not stop the car as we've heard they can charge at you, so we just continue to move on. He was breathtaking! . . I came across this photo while cleaning out my closet this weekend. I did have to use my zoom lens, though he really honestly wasn’t far away from us at all. So what adventures are on your agenda this weekend?
