This is the first time I have seen a sunrise so intensely color snow. What a wonderful sight. . . FOLLOW @arwin.l for more landscapes. . . In order to get the sun to color the snow at sunrise the first light needs to hit the snow. Usually it will start pink, then turn gold, then white. On flat land this is relatively easy, but in mountains it is harder because there are often other peaks and ridges preventing the first light from hitting the spot. The photographers ephemeris is a great app (and web application) that can help you determine in advance if your chosen spot will receive “first light.” let me know in the comments if you would be interested in more information on this.
