Honey and soy battered chicken tenders with hot chippies, a piece of lettuce and 1/2 of a cherry tomato 😂✌🏼 that was my lunch today and damnnn was it a good feed! I have eaten out so much these last couple of days and I was scared. Of all things too, I was scared of weight gain. But life is so much more than what you weigh. All ready to go for another workout. . Heavy lifting today, as it is every other day. I lift for various reasons: . 1. Strength now means I can maintain it as I get older, mitigating the risk of me struggling to get out of chairs, or falling and easily breaking shit. . 2. Muscle looks good as you lose fat and uncover the body underneath. . 3. The more muscle you have, the more fuel (calories) you body burns at a base rate. There’s simply more of you that required fuel. . 4. It gives me a sense of achievement and progress. I can see, month to month, what my efforts are producing. . So, if you want to eat/drink more and get away with it, look better, and build a base that will serve you well into your twilight years, start to lift.

Regardless if you're a newbie or a bodybuilding pro, we're all on the same journey to be better versions of ourselves. Deadlifts - the most important leg exercise you should do(?) ---‐----------------------------------------‐------- This might be abit of a controversial statement if you're a squat lover (OMG WHAT ABOUT SQUATS, SQUATS ARE THE BEST?!), Well yeah, squats are amazing indeed, but I'll give u three reasons why for some people they should focus more on their deadlifts at this point in their training # ❌ HAMSTRING TARGETTING: How many people do you actually know who target or even train their hamstrings seriously? The majority of people see leg training as just squats, leg press, leg extensions, and then throw in some random hamstring exercises at the end of the workout so that it feels like a complete leg workout. For these people, deadlifts (especially some kind of straight legged) should be a priority, and should be done at the beginning of leg days, before moving on to squats. ❌ MUSCLE IMBALANCES: If someone has been neglecting proper hamstring development for a while, then they've likely development some major muscle imbalances in their legs (their quads are much bigger and stronger than their hams), which can lead to injuries and posture problems. For these people, deadlifts should definitely be a priority, while squats should take a back seat until both muscle groups are balanced and properly developed. ❌ ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT: If you're an athlete and deadlifts are not in your program, boy, you need a new coach ASAP. It's easy to become disheartened when weight loss or an improvement in your fitness is not as rapid as you had hoped! .. .. But it's important to remember that you didn't gain all the weight you wish to lose or become unfit overnight so it's unfair on yourself to set unrealistic expections from your body! .. .. Small changes and consistency is what is going to get you to that finish line not drastic measures or quick fixes, these only ever result in ups and downs in your journey often 1 step forward and 2 steps back which is now good for mindset or staying motivated! .. ..
