So for those who don’t know, AMS is the software I use for making music since I know nothing about specific notes or musical theory. It’s useful because it plays the notes back to you, but limiting because you can only use six instruments at a time, and there’s no surround sound. To work around this, I make a beta version of a song (vid 1,) and then copy it four times for the melody, (vid 2,) downbeat, (vid 3,) baseline, (vid 4) and beat (vid 5) before mixing them all together in different audio channels using Audacity (vid 6). Taco 🌮 Tuesday😆 🥳!. Well I managed to make solid progress yesterday working on my label design project. The only down side is how monotonously time consuming the process is right now. Normally I would be breezing through such a task. How ever the challenge here is trying something new. The gestureRecognizer was a flop I’ll have to try and figure out some time today what the heck is going on I couldn’t even get Xcode to compile my project last night that’s when I knew it was time to call it. And..done.. for tonight at least as far as work goes on this product label project. I still need create a bar code and figure out all my typography elements I need to incorporate but so far I’m off to a running start. Still have plenty of time before my deadline so I’m ahead of the game in some ways. Now all that’s left to do is squeeze in some time for drawing. Time is flying by today. So far so good 😊 I managed to get this second character just about finished up. Just a little more outlining to go so I decided to take a break and eat something before home stretch. I worked out my gesture recognizer for Super Dice Dash and have everything laid out on paper . Just need to hop into Xcode and implement it at this point. So far so good I’m ahead of schedule for tonight. The plan is to draw for a solid 2 hours and work on anatomy perspective & proportions. Good morning Monday 🐥🐛 I woke up rested & ready. Today’s agenda: 🔘1: Work a bit more on my label design project for Heinz ketchup. 🔘2: Re-visit Super Dice game and create a gesture recognizer to recognize swipe gestures in order to remove the current button I have and utilize swipe gestures to roll my dice. 🔘3: spriteKit and chill so I’m thinking about playing with text objects and seeing what kind of effects I can do out of the box to manipulate animate and sequence text🧘🏻‍♂️ gotta crawl before you walk. 🔘4: Update resume for the 30th time. I swear my resume📑 has been through so many revisions and re-writes I wonder how many people also go through this struggle. I think for me the challenge 📈is developing the technical communication skills to convey what problems I solved for each job in a technical manner🥋. This morning I had a recruiters reach out to me with a potential opportunity. Only time will tell who 🤷🏻‍♂️ knows I just might end up working in film 🎞 ? Today was such a much needed break from priorities for a few hours. The weather this morning was soo nice we made our way to Huntington Beach for the cherry blossom festival. It was okay not really what I think me or Sophia expected but we had a good time and got out for a bit and enjoyed the afternoon together shopping for groceries and snacks for the week. Woohoo 🥳 I made great progress today on my Label design project. Working with illustrator is brutally monotonously slow process. I’m so used to drawing on the fly with a iPad that this seems like a huge step backwards using just a mouse to point and pull my lines. On the flip side it is vector based art so it’s fully scalable that’s a plus. Now time to relax a bit and restore some life balance 🧘🏻‍♂️ #netflixandchill Okay , I was recommended a movie called acrimony on Netflix they say it’s a really good one. So tonight it’s all about decompressing relaxing and spending time with Sophia. My mind is spinning in circles after today’s project progress. More and more is the reality sinking in . I’m have to double down on my art and start really pushing to draw everyday for a hour or two in order to get my self to a black belt 🥋 in animation. Break time ⏰💆🏻‍♂️..Okay so far so good we’re making excellent progress for project 2. The plan is to pace my self and work on this a little every day so I don’t burn my self out and sprint through this in one shot. The agenda for tonight is to complete this character. Good morning , it’s Saturday my eyes feel like they are gonna bleed.I need a coffee ☕️ it’s coffee time. Today’s Agenda 🔘spriteKit and chill , 🔘illustrate characters and design elements for label packaging project using adobe illustrator. Gotti gotti 😆 Playing with transforms, animating and learning to create visually dynamic content is really really fun and tedious when you realize that auto layout is completely jacking up your animation code🙄. I always preferred programmatic programming now I know why 💩🤷🏻‍♂️. Okay yeah so about this app right here. I actually built this a few weeks back how ever I wanted to still share this with everyone. I was playing with a few different things here. One ☝🏼 I wanted to utilize Audio foundation and que audio within my application to tie in the overall theme I was going for here . I created a illustrative splash screen to tie in with the artist. Then it was pretty much a experimentation of learning how to utilize Tap gestures , transformations, blur effects and whole lotta fun and frustration 😁. I’m still in time out, Apple banned me for a few days from developing any new apps ( I exceeded the limit cap of 10 apps in a week 💆🏻‍♀️). So I can’t build anything new under my main developer account until Apple lets me out of time out🦹🏻‍♂️. Thank god for plan B, I mean back up Apple account lol 😂 . Where did the day go it’s crazy how time flys by when your focused. Sometimes I have to force myself to walk away for a few minutes. Once that tunnel vision kicks in I’m missing my breaks my coffee gets cold and don’t even ask about lunch or dinner pshhh what’s that ? 😂. Hey man time Management is important in order to avoid burn out . I’m trying to pace my self with this illustration project. Working on a little at a time each day. So I can squeeze in more time to code and start building out interactive UI elements for my applications I’m creating. Plus the fact that this program Is very monotonous to work with. I’m not a fan considering I can use third party drawing applications or a Wacom tablet to perform these same tasks more efficiently. This not only speeds up workflow but gives me extra time to designate eles where. This is a win win if you ask me. But what do I know last time I checked it’s not about what you know but trying something different and comparing the results. To be continued... My interpretation of Walt Disney’s Winnie-the-Pooh. This piece is I want to say 42” x 30” ? It’s hard to say it’s a odd shaped size I originally got the canvas in San Diego at a thrift store and later brought that canvas home to cleaned up prep, and paint on.So this was what I came up with after everything was done.I don’t really buy new canvases anymore if I can help it i enjoy taking stuff I find and repurposing it into art 🖼 when time allows me the opportunity. This piece is done in Acrylic paint 🎨. I prefer the short dry time versus working with oil it allows me to make more progress in a day and be more productive when I’m under deadlines and have to deliver. I outlined all the characters using my favorite tool in my bag of secrets. My script liner I prefer to outline all my work with a script liner . I feel it gives the characters a more authentic feel . Kinda that inconsistency in line weight it adds to the hand drawn inconsistencies you naturally get when working with a brush.✍️ and what you see in a lot of early animation. Painting is my favorite past time in life. I started painting when I was 4years old and have never stopped Throughout all my years up to now really. Painting brings me great amounts of pleasure and relaxation I can get lost in my process and be happy. I guess in many ways my art was always my safe place in life were I could go and never be bullied by kids that would pick on me cause I never fit in Hell i still don’t fit in 😂🤷🏻‍♂️ lol some things never change lol.It was kinda my get away growing up from all the insanity around me. Good morning ☀️, it’s coffee time I need some coffee ☕️ . The morning after my first introduction to sprite kit and utilizing and implementing particle emitters. My eyes 👀 feel like they are on fire 🔥 I deduce this is due to lack up sleep however I can argue I’ve spent my whole life asleep so now I’m playing catch up. I wish there were more hours in the day for all the stuff I desire to learn📚👨🏻‍💻. You kinda have to pick and choose at some point how you utilize your time⏳⌛️. More and more every day I realize all I want to do is code, code code, draw,paint and code wait did I say code ? 😬. This is were sprite kit is really exciting me. The thought that I can draw my own textures and map those textures to a sprite that I then load into an array and write a for loop to cycle thorough that array in order to load them as keyframes in order animate them on screen in sequence. I can modify those frames to each have there own unique attributes and ability’s. This is freaking epic im blown away 🤯 at the process and the sheer amount of options and extend ability this offers me in terms of what I am capable of achieving inside my applications. My animation 👾 class is coming in clutch right now . So I have decided to completely scrap my dice game application and re write it again from the ground zero utilizing spriteKit. I need to first gather my thoughts again and mock up a new wire frame and re think my screens again and how I want them to interact so I can re group re build and pull my hair out some more. Last night I managed to learn a whole lot of what doesn’t work the classic case of trial -vs- errors... Take a deep breath breath... You got this little guy💪🏼. The dots all connect. Planting 🌱 seeds for health ❤️ and wealth 🤱🏻. I had some time this afternoon before i dive head first into SpriteKit and particle effects so I decide to use that time to draw & illustrate few ideas. I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people around me and my family it’s these experiences both good and bad that have shaped me into who I am today. Squash and stretch, Exaggeration. I utilized these principles with this animation. The hardest part for me is abstracting my art to a simple form in order to learn these principles and be able to properly animate objects. But sometime in order to move forward you gotta let go of what you think you know in order to try something new and charmge your approach. The goal doesn’t change only the approach. Solid drawing is the key to being a successful animator. It’s amazing to be surrounded by film makers I’m learning so much. Developing story’s and understanding how they are structured goes hand in hand with character development. Although I have no immediate desire to aspire to work in film. I am translating these principles and rules into developing interactive software applications. My professor is probably one of the hardest graders in the entire school and I’m pretty thankful for that. He pushes you to do your best and does not accept anything but that. You get back what you give these are hard lessons to come by in life and lessons that have taking me years to really appreciate. Care for those who care enough to care . Good morning it’s coffee time. What a day yesterday was. I’m doing doubles in animation class in order to be the best animator I can be so my school day starts at 5am and ends at 10pm. My presentation for the iOS application I built was a slam dunk. But did have a minor set back for some odd reason when I would compile my code XCODE was not recognizing the audio files that I had in my project ? This cause my build to fail and as a result I took about a solid 10 minutes on the podium scrambling to comment out all my audio code so I could demo the app. Anyone know why this happens ? If the audio files are in root of my app and bundled together?. Again minor set back but I got threw it and was able to make it happen. Ironically I was the only person to meet the deadline and deliver on time and give a presentation. Today I get to semi regroup and recharge. I do have a illustration I must design for label packaging for a heintz ketchup bottle. But thankfully enough I still have two weeks before it’s due so I can pace my self a bit or at least try to it at all possible 🤣. The training wheels have officially come of. Last night was a tough learned lesson in the importance of version control. After spending a solid few days programming this application. I managed to completely break my app with a error that only god could help me resolve. So at 9:30pm last night I set out to start rebuilding my application I broke. Then to make things worst Apple revoked my ability to create any new applications because I had exceeded my limit of 10 applications within a week so they placed a 7 day hold on my account. Need less to say I was freaking out a bit. My solution ? I logged into another Apple ID problem solved take that Apple lol 😂. I’m happy with my overall efforts I was up till 3am At that point I called it my brain was toast. So I damn near died right now. I’ve been building a 🎲 game for the past week and needless to say I broke my application during development and I have a error only god can help me. So I have no other choice to rebuild and re develop this application tonight in order to meet my deadline. I wanted to cry 😭 lol 😂 [email protected][email protected] . Let this be a lesson to me #versioncontrol looks like I’m in for a very long night. No sleep 😴 for me tonight . I need a hail marry right about now. On the flip side I’m getting very good at keyframes and using Swift’s core animation library 📚 to create interactive UI Elements. Also on that note I can’t belive Apple forces you to purchase a developer license. I have a free account right now but I had no clue there was a delimiter on my account only allowing a maximum of 10 applications writhing x amount of days? I got banned from developing for 7 days . Okay I didn’t get banned Apple just won’t allow me to build anything. Solution ? Since I was a kid I always loved role playing games like shadow gate and crystalis on the n.e.s to much later my all time favorite final fantasy 7 on the PlayStation . But this game right here Final Fantasy 12 is such a amazing work of art from the level design to each and every detail of every character model, animation, and asset imaginable. Hands down final fantasy is one of the best series of its genre and one of my favorite games in my personal collection I cherish and have kept and played over and over through the years.
