Look at that spread, though👩🏻🍳...
Whether you’re traveling for the long weekend or staying put (but you’ll be heading out and about to soak up the beautiful weather🙋🏻♀️), it doesn’t mean your kick ass nutrition habits you’ve been slaying throughout the week have to go to💩
Here are some of the ways we can stay on track this holiday weekend so that when Tuesday comes around we’ll be heading into the work week feeling on top of our game...
🍔Memorial day weekend is synonymous with a good cookout. Make sure to eat breakfast/snack before you get there so you don’t overdo it on the higher cal options you should be enjoying in the right portion sizes. You go in hangry and before you know it you’re elbow deep in the guacamole (half a cup, basically a palmful, being roughly 250 cals and 25g of fat) racking up cals before the main event even starts.
💦Hydrate like it’s your job. Beers will be a flowin, and you know I’m not one to turn a drink down here and there, but if you’re dehydrated a couple of beers might turn into 4 or 5 (cause thirst) and you’ll be feeling even worse the next day. Beat the hangover and make an effort to consistently drink water all day long.
🥗Have some pre-packed go to meals ready to rock for the car ride that’ll keep well (like these protein muffins, 👆🏼DM me for recipe!), or keep them in your fridge to eat up before you head out for your social event. Or if you’re me you bring that meal to the bar and give no Fs.
😁Most importantly, ENJOY YOURSELF! Pay more attention to your company, laugh, sing, dance, move, and try not to stress about food. Eat your prepared meals, enjoy your treats, drink your water, and relax.
