If you read my @goodonyou_app article about the impact of fashion on women in developing nations, @maliadesignsfairtrade is an example of what I meant by doing it the right way.
Empowering local, woman-led organisations with consistent work to employ over 300 employees who are either at-risk of human trafficking or facing job discrimination because of disability.
Imagine if instead of supporting multinational corporations that exploit workers through mass production factories, we only purchased new fashion pieces from small producers using low impact materials.
@maliadesignsfairtrade provide dignified jobs with fair wages for vulnerable Cambodian women, long-term partnerships with Cambodian organisations doing good in their communities, zero interest loans for employees to help their families reach economic security AND they donate profits to anti-human trafficking organisations.
This is what I’m all about. Buy less, thrift more, and when buying new choose small woman-run businesses like @maliadesignsfairtrade.
