If you’ve seen Antelope Island lately and thought it didn’t look much like an island, you’re not wrong. NASA images (swipe over) from September 2011 and 2016 show the shocking desiccation of Farmington Bay, and overall, half the lake bed is now exposed. It may be dramatic—but not inaccurate—to say the Great Salt Lake is dying and that, to the extent we stand idly by, we are responsible for and complicit in its disappearance. From the tiniest drop of water to the mightiest flood, Arches National Park's geology is in constant change. Today's thunderstorms brought rushing water through narrow gaps, scouring the rocks and carrying tiny pieces of the park away. How will the park change in a year, 100 years, 1,000 years? FUN FACT: While Coalville is currently getting dumped on (and by dump we mean raining hard) Henefer is sunny and dry. @utahemergency reports scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, then rain will become more widespread tonight. Locally heavy rain is expected with some of the stronger showers and thunderstorms. #Henefer #Coalville #SummitCounty #utwx

Check out this incredible photo of the #lightning from #TropicalStormRosa. This was taken in #SanFelipe , #Baja #California. Meteorologist Brett Benson says the storm has yet to make landfall, but as soon as it does it will begin to weaken. Remnants of Rosa will then be headed for #Utah. #UtahCounty is expected to see heavy rains starting Tuesday afternoon. Many residents in #WoodlandHills and #ElkRidge are preparing for debris flow from the #BaldMountainFire burn scar. (Photo courtesy Dirk Sutton) #PoleCreekFire #utwx #wildfires #utahwildfires
