#handstandeverywhere . . Schon ist auch Tag 2 unseres Kurzurlaubs fast vorbei und weitere 30km auf der Uhr. . Heute ging es auf der tschechischen Seite die Berge hoch und runter. Wunderschöne Natur so weit das Auge reicht und einige richtig knackige An- und Abstiege, die mit dem vielen nassen Lauf doch recht anspruchsvoll waren 😂 . Und wenn uns der normale Weg zu langweilig wurde, dann ging es auch mal direkt steil den Hang hoch. . Übrigens bin ich nach diesen zwei Tagen fest davon überzeugt: Arnold sieht nur aus wie ein Hund. What a morning... started with running club, where I realised I have definitely got faster, it was sprint intervals and my did I push myself! After what felt like a very dark few days it was time to try and pick myself up. With my emotions shattered and feeling mentally and physically exhausted, I knew it was imperative that I try and resume a sense of normalcy and get back in the grind (the more I stay inactive the worse my body gets and lately just getting around has been a challenge). So here I am literally picking myself off the ground as I completed @ironmom.ca ‘s strength training program for runners last night (Laura you definitely had me sweating girl! 😆) Wow was I in urgent need to start this program up since having to stop CrossFit last winter due to my neck (I miss it soooooo much). I lost a lot of upper body and core strength but did not realize just how much!! 😱 It was humbling to see just how much my body had to fight just to do adapted movements of what I could do fairly easily once upon a time without adaptations 😝 All the exercises in Laura’s program are with your own body weight and boy did I struggle! 😝 It felt amazing however to complete it (mind you only 2 out of 4 rounds..baby steps lol) but I look forward to integrating this strength training program with my tri training routine. What I love is I can do it anywhere at anytime since it does not require any weights (although you can integrate weights if you want to challenge yourself even more which I plan to work my way back up to ). I found old race photos a couple of days ago that I want to share with you guys. I’ve changed a lot since I started doing triathlons. Before then I only completed races for fun. I love racing, but one thing hasn’t changed. I only race against myself and the clock. I’m not going for podiums or finishing first. I don’t like that kind of pressure. I used to do competitive rowing 🚣‍♀️ for 6years and always had that awful feeling that I had to give my best performance otherwise my team would be disappointed. I run because it’s my happy place. I love when thousands of people run together during races. At the end of the race when I see someone walking or struggling I often go up to them and pat their shoulders or backs and saying it’s okay to walk and encourage them to just keep going. If you’ve never done this I don’t think you can imagine what I’m talking about. During those races I feel free and happy. I hope it will never change for me. This photo was taken after the 2017wizzair half marathon. One of the hottest race I’ve ever had. I was struggling to finish, and wished it was over. I however loved the challenge. I think I ran my best half marathon time. 🤨Quand je cherche mes ischios, mon quadriceps et mon mollet.... et que je trouve rien 🤣 . Osteotomie J+34! Déjà plus d’un mois que je me suis fait opérer 👐 . La rééducation se passe bien mais bon, pour l’instant c’est beaucoup de massage/mobilité! Rdv lundi avec le chirurgien pour faire une radio et voir si je peux déjà lâcher les béquilles ou bientôt... 🤞 . Don't know when this physio thing will end. There's a long road ahead until I feel the strength in my left leg the way I did before. There's a lot I still can't do and some pain still going on but I am trying to focus on the things I can do and work with it in a positive way. For now I can swim, I can ride my bike on flat routes and I can slow run. Oh and squats.. a lot of them 😂 It may take my patience away but I will get there, oh yes I will. . . Não sei bem quando vou ver o fim a estas sessões de fisioterapia. Ainda há um longo caminho a percorrer até sentir a perna esquerda com a força de antigamente. Ainda há muito que não posso fazer e dores, algumas, todos os dias, mas a ver se me concentro de uma forma positiva no que consigo fazer, em vez de ficar frustrada com o que ainda não dá. Während ich gerade zu Hause mit Magen Darm 🤢 das Bett hüte, habe ich ziemlich viel Zeit (und Langeweile) um in alten Fotos rumzustöbern 🙈 Hätte mir vor knapp 2,5 Jahren jemand gesagt, dass ich mal 30 Kilo abnehmen und selbst begeistert Triathlon machen würde (anstatt am Streckenrand nur meinen Papa anzufeuern), hätte ich es niemals geglaubt 🤷🏼‍♀️ Aber so kann’s gehen, man kann alles schaffen, wenn der Wille nur stark genug ist 💪🏻 Ich freue mich, wenn ich die Bazillen überlebt habe, ganz bald wieder ins Training einsteigen zu können. The last time I stepped foot on a track was sometime in high school. Growing up, I wasn’t athletic. As a teenager, I took up jogging. Not because I wanted to FEEL better but because that is what Teen Vogue magazine told me would get me the body I wanted. I jogged regularly in hopes to have a figure like the girls on the covers of all the leading magazines. Let’s get real... magazines are full of lies and photoshop business. I’ll never be 5’11! 😂 • • Today, I move for different reasons. I move, run, cycle, swim, hike, lift weights, do yoga, because it makes me FEEL good. It strengthens my mind and my body. It’s my therapy. Exercise encourages me to be a more kind, understanding, present person. I learn something new every single time I want to give up and instead push to the finish or push until the stop watch goes off. Do I always want to start? Hell, NO. But I am always 100% happy that I did once I’m finished! • • Does exercise help you lose or control weight? Sure! And that’s great! But, friends, there is SO much more that exercise rewards you with. Longevity. Mental clarity. Stronger bones, muscles and joints. Lower cholesterol. Better recovery. A healthier state of mind. New friendships. Healthy family time. Regular exercise reduces the risk of some cancers and improves your sexual health! • • I challenge you to find something you truly enjoy. Do that regularly. Set goals. And watch and see what happens to you! • • 3x1 mile repeats handled. Not bad for as little as I’ve been running. Cycling has definitely made be a better runner. 🙌🏽

Celebrating Medal Monday in style! In honor of surviving my bike crash, placing 3rd in my age group, and making world's I had my first ever spa day with my mom, relaxed on the beach, and jogged 4 humid and sweaty miles with Dad.
