I’ve never, ever thought of myself as a runner. I just happen to run because it’s the third sport in triathlon. My run mileage per month isn’t anything fabulous either, since I train for sprint distances, mostly (and I usually have to swim, bike, and do strength training within any given week as well). • This month, though, I decided to challenge myself to run 100 kilometers throughout December for Make-a-Wish Philippines, in partnership with @takboph. All participants’ registration fees for this event will go to children with critical illnesses. • I figured that running in behalf of these kids is the least that I could do for them. So I gladly decided to sign up, donate in the form of a reg fee, and try running my chosen distance. While I could’ve chosen 21K or 50K, which are quite easy to accomplish, 100K in a month is something I don’t think I’ve reached just yet (or maybe I have, but I just don’t remember?). • I’m currently at 65K out of 100 as of today (YAY!), and I still have the next half of the month to finish. I’m looking forward to finishing, and more than that, being able to help these children in any way I possibly can. • I pray that this Holiday season, these kids will feel loved, supported, valued, protected, and cared for. And more importantly, that they will receive the greatest gift of all: the real Reason for the Season.
