Think about this as you go forth to touch and love trees this weekend, July 18, 19, 20. - Our world is home to over three trillion trees—with almost half of them living in tropical or subtropical forests. There are roughly 400 trees for every human. 12,000 years ago, before the advent of agriculture, the Earth had twice as many trees as we do now. Currently, our planet is losing 10 billion trees a year. http://bit.ly/threetrilliontrees
Significant global effort is necessary to restore healthy forests worldwide. Trees are essential for air, air quality, and human health. Forest Bathing and Grounding are changing lives every day. The trees sustain human life. We can be better friends to the trees if we listen to the trees.
SPECIAL NOTE for the TOUCHING 100 TREES WEEKEND - On Monday Morning, I suggested to you that you might map out the path you will follow when you go out to touch the trees and show them love. I also recommended you let someone know what you are doing and where you will be.
Today, I suggest to you that it would enhance your personal safety if you work in pairs or groups. I consider you are all adults and these decisions are yours. Our best doctors teach us that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
To that end, I am suggesting that unless you are super hero level bad asses, carrying those items, instruments, or substances that keep you safe. While I am not concerned about your safety with the trees, the human track record is littered with violence for no reason. Protect yourselves. It is the responsible thing to do.
While the trees have no conscious intention to do you harm, pay attention. Be alert. Some trees have T HORNS. In 48 hours, the touching begins.
I honor each and all of you sharing this experience. If you only touch one tree with love for one minute, I am grateful for you and the dominion of trees will be too. Take pictures. Share the love you have shown.
My final recommendation for today is for the trees you discover that have missing limbs, touch them where the limb is missing and listen.
