My work experience in China.
I learned about teaching English and working as a teacher in China a year and a half ago. My friend told me about this opportunity and I was glad to use it. It seemed quite interesting to me, and I was looking for information about this work. I watched a million (hundreds of) videos on this topic, yet I still doubted. Then I learned about the agencies that are engaged in sending teachers to work. At first I thought that it was convenient, but after a while my opinion changed…
I was faced with the problem that such agencies, in addition to the cost of a visa and a flight, charge a fee for getting a job! Yes, you had to pay in order to get a job as an English teacher. How is this fair? I did not have extra $700 to pay for the agency’s services, so after reviewing a bunch of videos on YouTube and re-reading many articles on this topic, I decided to do everything myself. I dealt with the visa issue on my own, booked myself a flight ticket and arrived in China. And then things turned into a challenge …
I was visiting schools and centers looking for jobs by myself😰. My finances were rapidly melting. It was my second week, but I still couldn’t find anything, there was no more money to pay for the place that I booked on Airbnb. I managed to live in a room with cockroaches and learned how to spend just $5 a day on food in China. That was my reality. I was scared. But suddenly the green light came on my way. (To be continued)
