I might just give this a crack. This particular event has been popping up a lot recently, so I figure I should follow the signs. #Ancestors #Traditions #ConnectwithCountry #kabikabi #PositiveForwardMotion #Repost @ignitesunshinecoast ( @get_repost ) ・・・ Speaker applications are now open for the next Ignite Sunshine Coast event. ... www.ignitesunshinecoast.com/speaking or click the link in our profile. ..................................... #ignitetalks #ignitesunshinecoast #sunshinecoast #mysunshinecoast #5minutetalks #enlightenusbutmakeitquick #20x15 #storytelling #publicspeaking #shareyourstory #shareyouridea #shareyourmessage

While Tech is a fan favorite school across the state of Texas, students come from across the country! The 2017-2018 Spirit Program has 84 student leaders from 15 states and two countries. A great group and always enjoy taking photos of these exceptional athletes. Photos: CreativeMagic #team #ttucheer #spirit #fearless #ttu #texastech #mascot #traditions

Family Traditions are so important! And that is exactly what War Eagle is to our family. . My dad, Barry Jepson, began attending this show in the 1970s and continued until his retirement after 40 years with Jepson Pottery Studios. War Eagle was the last show my dad attended before retirement. The 5 of us kiddos grew up attending a variety of shows ranging from craft shows to juried fine art shows. This is by far one of our favorites (Ann Arbor is one of the others). In my 36 years, I have only missed one War Eagle and this is my husband's 18th year. We made many life long friends with other artists and their families. Our own daughters and now my husband's family share in the tradition. My dad, my little brother, his girlfriend, and my in-laws are here with us this year! . War Eagle is also the reason I started soap making. Our friends, Liz and Paul with Ozark Herbals, have been making soap for 35+ years. They told me a few years ago that they would be retiring soon. So I would either need to find someone new to purchase handmade soap from. . . .or make my own! So, naturally, the doer in me decided to learn the craft. And then the art of soap making. . In 2004, I started exhibiting here as a weaver. We took a few years off (still came to visit) while our girls were babies, and then started up again. While my booth is primarily soaps now, this is a tradition we plan to continue for a long time. And just like we did when we were little, the girls help out with the booth as well as make their own creations to sell (as well as learn budgeting, money handling, and customer relations). . And you really can't beat visiting the Ozarks in October! Whatever your family traditions are, keep them alive! Or start new ones with your loved ones. . . #familybonding #familytraditions #traditions #wareagle #wareaglefair #ozarks #artsandcrafts #artist #craftswoman #craftsman #handmadeisbest #willowtreeweaving #neature #wareaglemill #soapmaking #soapshare #handmade #handcrafted #handmadesoap #camping #optoutside #buyhandmade #coldprocess #restandrelaxation #handcraftedsoap #weaving #weaver #textileartist #fiberartist #artisansoap

In 1936, as a student dare, a Texas Tech student named George Tate began a tradition first known as "ghost riders" which would later become the university's official mascot in 1954, the Masked Rider. Joe Kirk Fulton is named as first in the long series of horse-riding emblems. Each year, Tech students try out for the Masked Rider position. The student is selected by the University's Masked Rider Advisory Committee. They serve the university for one year, making over 300 public appearances on behalf of Tech. Fearless Champion is the university's 14th horse to serve as the school's mascot. It’s funny how limits of mallards turn a group of clients into a group of friends so quickly. 🙏🏼🦆

Guaguas de pan! Bread babies -- traditional for November 1 in Ecuador, though the season starts ~ in September. But these are special because they are the first pumpkin project. The bread is a yeast dough with pumpkin puree and raisins, filled with panela cream cheese or dulce de leche (the ones with sprinkles). The traditional drink that accompanies them is colada morada, a thick fruit drink made of blackberries, etc., and spices cooked together with purple corn flour to thicken it. But I'm the family baker, not the colada maker, ha. #quito #ecuador #personalchef #chefadomicilio #guaguas #pan #bread #brot #panaderia #baking #backen #pumpkin #kürbis #zapallo #calabaza #dulcedeleche #caramel #creamcheese #cheese #käse #queso #fromscratch #cafe #coffee #kaffee #snack #bocaditos #sprinkles #traditions #travel via food

Sustain Textile Travel February 2019 - I love the world of opposites that I find in India. From street life to some of the most beautiful boutiques in the world. We will spend a leisurely afternoon or two visiting designer boutiques. This is an experience to savor, as these boutiques are nestled in old palaces and forts. We’ll see and understand how designers are working with artisans to support Indian Textile traditions. Slow fashion. Slow shopping. No malls here. . These experiences could not be more different and it’s this contrast that makes India so wonderfully unique. A feast for the senses from smells to colors and a riot of sounds and the visual delight of seeing cows and animals alongside humans and cars. It can be perplexing and awe inspiring to see so much in one place, all at the same time. The wonder of India is simply unforgettable. . . #sustaintextiletravel #travelingindia #textileofindia #travelingram #textilesofindia #textiledesign #textileworkshop

Often it’s the “something borrowed” that steals my heart and this was no exception. The veil Darcie wore was given to her from the mother of the groom whose father bought it for her in Belgium when she was only six years old. Both the mother of the groom and her sister wore the veil as brides and she graciously passed it on to Darcie for her wedding day. So special! @leigh_webber_weddings #veil #familyheirloom #heirloom #traditions #southernbride #roaringgap #gappilyeverafter #eventsbyreagan
