More updates to share about Grant Shorey and Gavin Lill! Using the Blast Motion sensor, we’ve been able to measure critical metrics like bat speed. It’s been almost 6 weeks since we’ve done any front toss or tee work (all machine work even for warm ups), but with the “warm” weather today - we measured bat speed again to compare. For Grant, you’ll see an average bat speed of 66mph and a peak bat speed of 71.7mph back on October 19th. His PR bat speed against tee/front toss had been 73mph. Today, Grant’s average bat speed was 72.8mph and his peak bat speed was 79.2mph. In the first video, Grant also PR’d on exit velocity off of a tee at 92mph. We used the Pocket Radar to record this number! For Gavin, you’ll see an average bat speed of 58.4mph and a peak bat speed of 63.6mph back on October 19th. Today, Gavin had an average bat speed of 67.4mph and a peak bat speed of 72mph. He also PR’d on exit velocity off of a tee at 81mph. His highest recorded exit velocity off of a tee before today was 74mph. In the last video, Grant demoed some swing with the Velo Pro. Trying to develop a better relationship with the ground! These dudes are trending in the right direction! More testing coming tomorrow!
