Another super duper casual Friday!
If you have read past posts you may have noticed that I reference movies quite a bit. I absolutely love movies, getting sucked into a story. Reading is a good way, too, but I just cannot resist getting lost in that cinematic effect.
Super hero movies are my kryptonite. <— see what I did there 😬. I have had a fascination with heroes with their special gifts and abilities since I was a little girl. Seeing them come to life on the big screen still makes me giddy.
Here is a fun fact for you—- super heroes are modeled after the strengths of good ol’ human beings. Did you know Superman’s image was created by the artist around strongmen, wrestlers, and boxers? Rocked those tight clothes with the shorts overtop, and originally couldn’t fly! Clark Kent was eventually made a journalist because that’s what the comic writer imagined himself being. Years and years and a lot of human imagination and human talent have gone into what we see today.
Super heroes are born in a nugget of truth. They have virtues, strengths (not just physical), weaknesses, and usually some character defining moment that makes them who they are going to be... So, basically, all of our strengths and weaknesses, experiences, joys, and hardships, are what super heroes are made of.
I’ll just leave that there.
PS there is DC going on in this post and I’m really much more of Marvel kinda woman, but that’s a conversation for a different day. .
