your story is your truth,
and no one can take that from you.
i was recently asked how did i build the community i have on this platform. and while i wish there was a method with steps that i took to get where i am, i can honestly say that it’s been a journey.
a journey of discovering my true self, unraveling the artist within, and owning my story + the woman i’m becoming.
it wasn’t until i took time to intentionally seek my purpose where things started to flow on and off the grid. i took time to do the work: (therapy, invest in education, end unhealthy friendships, eat better, journal consistently, exercise, etc.) and was able to create fearlessly and see what things i wanted to shed light on and encourage people with.
i unlearned the lie that value comes with a ton of followers and allowed myself to see the value in myself, my story, and my work.
if you find yourself questioning how to build your community on and off this platform, consider these thoughts:
- how are you showing up for yourself?
- what is your purpose and why do you want this?
- do you think your value will increase with a high following?
- are you doing the work and investing in your growth?
ultimately my desire is to use my platform to be myself unapologetically, share my truth, and serve people that can see themselves in my he(art)work.
this is your your value is not found in followers it is found in you and your story.
