Before I started @mamas_little_squares I considered having a stand alone blog to share my pregnancy & motherhood experiences.... hahaha!!! ALONG WITH 560,000,000,000 other mums! 🤣
In truth all my insecurities about being good enough, interesting, funny, likeable or intelligent enough swamped me and I squashed the idea quickly.
My husband pushed me to be braver with Instagram and show more of ‘me’. My humour, my dark days, my face without make up, with make up, the mundane and the brilliant. (Perhaps he was just bored of me calling him at work 75 times a day?)
@cherubsmagazine asked if I’d like to write a short piece on my experience of Chester’s Febrile Seizure and I was met with the same feelings I often get when given the offer of something new and out of my comfort zone;
Excitement at the possibilities verses the old internal critic that tells me I am not good enough, my words won’t matter.
Had a word. Got over myself. Wrote a piece, one I’m proud of and one that I hope helps and encourages parents to learn more about infant and child first aid.
I’ve not been invited to share this or my thoughts, I just realised today that it’s ok to be proud of myself and want to show that.
Thank you for the beautiful and supportive messages, telling me you feel proud of me too.
It means more than you know.
Check out @daisyfirstaid
And @cherubsmagazine for the article
