I'm keeping it real in the studio today. This beautiful art piece is not only colorful but edible. Using only the finest ingredients from the City Heights Farmers Market. I love when green beans are in season...the crunch and freshness is AMAZING! I'll post recipe soon. #foodisart #supportyourlocalfarmer #love #ireneskitchen #ejotes

The problem is simple. No farms, no food. The answer is much more complicated than that. At Sid Wainer & Son, we love food. All kinds of food. From fresh picked tomatoes in late summer to handcrafted farmstead cheeses. Even the most complex dish boils down to ingredients grown from the earth, plucked from the dirt by farmers who do it all for the love of the land. So much Life in each little nugget of nutrition 🍅🧡🤤 Not all tomatoes are created equal... good rule of thumb... if it smells like a Tomato and tastes like a tomato, then it’s probably a tomato worth eating 😁👍 And these little orange babies have been the most amazing tomatoes this year💥☄️☀️ #gratitude #tomatoes #phytonutrients #snacktime #rawvegan #wholefoodplantbased #healthylivingrevolution #juiceplus #supportyourlocalfarmer #medicalmedium #wholefoodnutrition #healingwithwholefoods #healing #healindiets #cleaneating #santacruz #healthcoach #livingfoods #lifeforce

Baking some snuggy treats for the cowboy this morning. I found these amazing organic Airlie Red apples at my local co-op and had to feature them this week in a applesauce cake recipe that I found. They are soooo Purdy! I was so pleased how the color came out even more with a little sprinkle of sugar💞 The Cowboy Lives for his treats and tea🥧🍵 💞 💞 💞 💞 💞 #supportyourlocalfarmer #foodie #cookingathome #corvallisoregon #mom #feedingthecowboy #apples #organicfood #foodphotography #foodphotographyandstyling #foodporn #corvallisphotagrapher #baking #bakingathome

Safe to say fall has arrived in the PNW. The trees have been putting on a show for a few weeks now, but the extended forecast is reading mid 50s with 50-70% chance of rain for the rest of eternity. . Likely the final mow of the year yesterday. Transitions can be difficult. Especially when the death of what was is so apparent, and the beginning of something new is still below the surface. Saving seeds can be more than just a resourceful act, rather a spiritual one as well. Collecting the seeds of last season’s crops pays its respect to all their work and gives hope for next years bounty. . . . . . #urbanfarm #foodunites #autumn #seedsaving #mydayinla #growing #nonprofit #growgood #regenerativeagriculture #local #farming #knowyourfarmer #supportyourlocalfarmer #growyourownfood #farmtotable #nonprofit #cityofbell #southeastla #dtla #losangeles

This was quite possibly the most amazing breakfast I’ve ever made. And on a weekday even! 🙌🏼 Creamy polenta topped with crispy Brussels sprouts, bacon, and a backyard egg. Bacon and Brussels cooked together in the oven, and my key to a dreamy polenta is slow and low. Just water, cornmeal, and salt and it tasted like there was butter and cream. I’m high fiving myself over here. #braggadocious and of course, the bacon is homemade from @sixbucketsfarmer pork (you know the drill), Brussels from the CSA and eggs from #backyardchickens #eatlocal #supportyourlocalfarmer #ohiopork #farmfresheggs #backyardeggs #communitysupportedagriculture #dairyfreebreakfast #glutenfreebreakfast #cleanbreakfast #goldenyolk #ohioproud #cookathome #bestbreakfastever

Industry regulators often claim that we are only exposed to “safe” levels of glyphosate, levels which do not point to toxicity or health risks. Tests are performed on lab animals to determine the safety risks of this chemical to humans. But a growing body of evidence from researchers across the globe points out that that these tests are inadequate in determining the toxic effects of glyphosate and Roundup residues may have, and that consumption of these residues may be a risk to health.

(English cap below). . . Grocery shopping in wet market doesn't guarantee there's no plastic involved. Large plastic bags like in the photo above are needed to transfer fresh produce from farmers to markets everywhere. Living in a country that's tropical and high in polution, plastic does play a huge and important role to keep the fresh produce clean, fresh longer, and protect them from dirt. In my opinion, this is the necessary plastic use. We should avoid the unnecessary one like how @tiptop_id use to pack their lemons 🤦🏻‍♀️. Although in the future I hope they will find more ecofriendly alternatives and also find solution to use the plastic more than once. Anyway, always support our farmers. They sacrifice blood sweat and tears to give us such abundance of produces. (1st photo from @iquitwaste ) #zerowaste #ichooseplanet #tampahindonesia

Our farmers Lisa & Laurence Hindley grow on a stunning piece of land in the Mattole Valley, 80 miles from our distillery. The Hindleys have farmed on this property since 1872. Here’s Laurence’s Great Great Grandfather George Hindley enjoying lunch with his farmhands. #knowyourfarmer @hindleyranch

Surround yourself with plants 🌱 not only do houseplants just make a space feel better, but they also purify the air 🌿 or take a forest hike 🌲or a visit to a conservatory 🌴 I bet you’ll leave feeling better 🍀

This strange weather this year is slowing the fig crops a little. Fun fact that these have been cultivated since 5000 BC and came to USA in 1520 AD. They taste best once ripe and heated with the sun, rain days seem to have slightly less flavor. Looking forward to dehydrating these for an upcoming crazy collaboration with one hell of a brewer....

We met some truly wonderful humans this year, and among them are The Hernandez Family, who come both Friday and Saturday to support us at the market. It’s people like them who inspire us to grow and do better. They blessed us with this wonderful gift on Sunday, and we just do not even think there are enough thank you’s that will express how moved we are by this thoughtful and personal gift. We have two more markets left in Patchogue and then our season is over, but we are so inspired and excited to come back next year to see our friends again! #thankful #grateful #blessed #thenapolitanofamilyfarm #patchogue #patchoguevillage #longisland #supportlocalfarmers #supportlocalfarms #supportyourlocalfarmer #nofarmsnofood #weloveourcustomers #friends

You can’t “beet” this beautiful vegetable! Beets are both sweet and savory. You can eat the gorgeous red roots or the deep green tops. You can roast them, boil them, or shred them in a salad. Hell, we’ve even grilled them with success. They are also abundant in all New England farmers markets right now! Can’t get to your local market? Market 2day is delivering for Plymouth, Hingham and Dewey Square Markets! It’s been a minute since I shared a new favorite dish, so in honor of #mealprepmonday , I present this delish lasagna I made a few weeks ago. . Secret ingredient: swap the pasta for spaghetti squash. I added in ricotta cheese, black beans, and Parmesan (duh) on top because 🧀 is life. One pan equals 4 heaping servings. Comment below if you want the recipe!

Yesterday, we (tbh I helped very little) planted 2,100 cloves of garlic in our beautiful new field. Following this dream is a huge leap of faith for both of us, but we’re leaping anyways because when you love what you do and who you’re doing it with, the reward feels greater than the risk (plus, with great power comes great responsibly. Oh wait, wrong cliché). We get lots of comments from friends/family/strangers when we tell them our plans that mostly consist of “What? Why? Don’t you know it’s cold in Minnesota? Enjoy that 3-week growing season”. It’s annoying, but we smile and try to not let it bother us, but some days it’s harder to laugh off than others. Going into our first season as #beginningfarmers is scary as heck, but the garlic is in the ground and there’s no turning back now. Basically, be nice and buy @sproutedearthfarm vegetables so we can keep doing what we’re doing. . . Edit: we have also received a TREMENDOUS amount of support and love from so many😍😍 #communityovercompetition #supportyourlocalfarm #supportyourlocalfarmer
