Like I said earlier I am aiming for PRs this week to start really gauge my strength. 💪Bent-over Barbell Row at 155 for 6 reps this week as my set finisher. Strength gains like crazy! 🥊Decided go throw a little extra into the mix today just because I haven’t done it in a while and wanted to do some TRX work. Inverted TRX Rows with feet elevated. I like. Amazing back workout, might start to use it as a finisher on pull days. 🏋️‍♂️Decided today I am going to set some fitness goals now to really challenge myself over the next few months or so: 1️⃣By December goal is to squat at least 200 for 1 rep and hit 160 in bodyweight 2️⃣Be able to perform 1 muscle-up by my BDay in March 3️⃣ 3 solid sets of at least 8 pull ups by end of September (Today went 8,6,4 😢) 🕶Also some exciting news on my end happening in the next couple weeks! 👟F O O T W E A R👟 ⠀ ⠀ Great post here by @drheenan at @advancedtherapyperformance about how improper footwear can lead to improper mechanics, using this reverse lunge as an example • • • 💥Footwear Matters💥 ⠀ I get it, our ancestors were running barefoot and not in Nikes. ⠀ Would I like to see everyone barefoot? With good foot mechanics, absolutely. ⠀ My issue is that very few can actually move great without some kind of quality footwear that’s better suited for their foot weaknesses and strengths. ⠀ Check out this athlete reverse lunging. He has rather poor mid-foot stability and could use some mid-foot support. We would refer to him as having a “sloppy foot”. To compound those inefficiencies, his footwear offers no mid-foot support and would also be classified as “sloppy”. In almost all of these cases, the families are buying footwear that they believe is best for their athlete and looks good. This actual pair of shoes is the most common I see worn and often is accompanied by an athlete with poor foot stability. ⠀ The barefoot community often sees shoes and orthotics as cheating, and they may be right. However, if we can change this athletes footwear and go from a somewhat dangerous and subpar lunge to just changing their shoes to increase efficiency/stability/strength/safety I’ll gladly do so. With athletes like this we often see them double their split stance/lunge strength in a matter of 2-4 weeks just by creating a more optimal movement environment. ⠀ We try to do some type of barefoot work with all of our athletes in a ground based warm-up regardless of how their foot moves. This is to help potentially increase foot strength and give them new sensory input or a new environment to work from. ⠀ Footwear, eyewear, and surgeries are probably the most impactful, non-main stream, legal performance enhancers we have him our tool box right now. ⚡CURTSY LUNGES FOR ACL INJURY PREVENTION ⚡ . . I like this analogy. Protecting the knee joint is like protecting a kid from traffic. If you never teach the kid to look both ways they get hit (The same as an athlete never receiving guidance in the weight room/field). . . If you never even let a kid cross the road out of fear, they are also going to get hit because life demands one to cross a road (this is the same as coaches that never let the knee move into a valgus position and preach knees out 24/7). . . . Now, if you teach the kid how to look both ways before crossing, they are safe for life unless an irresponsible driver comes along and wipes out their knee. (This is the same as a coach teaching the athlete how to handle valgus stress and how to get out of a shear valgus force. The irresponsible driver is the risk of a contact injury, which no training program can prevent). . . ------ What a strange day it's been for me. I was up early and feeling chipper as I popped to the gym for a session with The Boss. Bar a little bit of jumping towards the very end we worked pretty darned hard, I got it done and although dripping in sweat and completely pooped by the end I left smiling with the little tingle of endorphins crackling through me. Fourty minutes later as I got home and sat down to hydrate a huge wave of emotion swept over me and empty as I was I could do nothing but cry. Since then I have tried self care (a long soak in the bath) and even had a power nap (unthought of for me, the insomniac) but every thing I do, including eating, is accompanied with a stream of tears I just can't explain. I bloody hate being on this crazy hormonal rollercoaster, it's soul destroying at times. I'm clinging to the thought that I did get a positive week of training under my belt and that this must only be temporary... right!? 🤞🏻 Even The Boss would admit that we got some good s**t done these past two days and I can't wait to go again on Monday. Life fitness lateral raise singola, stack (95 kg) x 15, il senso di questo post è per mostrarvi come gli esercizi di isolamento vadano trattati con la stessa, se non addirittura maggiore, attenzione di quelli più pesanti quando si tratta di progredire su carichi e/o ripetizioni. Se migliorate in uno squat è perchè sono cresciuti i quadricipiti o perchè avete migliorato la coordinazione? O perchè avete trovato una posizione migliore per il bilanciere? O perchè siete più compatti con il core? O forse perchè è migliorata la catena posteriore? O magari avete mobilizzato meglio anche o caviglie? Se migliorate in una leg extension è perchè sono migliorati i quadricipiti o perchè...non lo so vi viene in mente altro? Se proprio dovete usare un benchmark per capire se siete migliorati muscolarmente minore la componente tecnica dell'esercizio, più settoriale la partecipazione muscolarmente nel movimento e maggiore la correlazione che c'è tra la vostra prestazione (carico x rip) e l'ipertrofia di tale muscolo. By enabling pitchers to handle increasing rate and magnitude of eccentric force - primarily due to increasing concentric force development and technical skill- I’ve observed higher pitching velocity without arm and shoulder breakdown as they better distribute deceleration stress I’ve been able to experiment more with the shoulder & elbow performance program with the current batch of college and high school pitchers. Since introducing flywheel resistance to MLB in 2012, going beyond low intensity rubber band work & integrating weightlifting along with rotary inertia flywheel for elite pitchers has been a fun and interesting journey #isoinertialtraining #flywheelresistance #baseball #pitcher #strengthtraining

✨4 YEARS✨ I made the biggest move of my life, thus far, 4 years ago. . I moved away from the comfort of a small town. A town of less than 600 people, where I knew everyone & vise versa. Moving to NYC was a dream of mine since I was 14, and 6 years later, it became my reality. . I was so excited, but freaking terrified at the same time. I literally knew NO ONE when I moved here, & the hardest part of it all was moving away from @eaeppli & banking on the hope that we could make the long-distance thing work until we figured out what was next for us. But hey, fast forward to today, & we live here together, & we’re married!👫💃🏻 . This city has given me so much...the amount of opportunity here truly is endless. I moved here mostly for school & modeling, which like anything else, had their good & bad days. I earned my bachelor’s degree, booked lots of modeling gigs, walked in 4 seasons of NYFW, experienced how amazing & glamorous the modeling industry can be, & went through some of the darkest days of my life within the industry, too. . This city truly can make or break you, if you let it. It forced me to grow up REAL quick, & gave me the backbone I needed. . It’s here that I began my career in fitness & nutrition, where I landed my first fitness job, & earned my nutrition certification.🤸🏻‍♀️ . If I hadn’t moved out here 4 years ago, & let the intimidation of a new place and people hold me back, there’s no chance I’d be the person I am today. This place molded me & has blessed me with the opportunity to pursue my passion & live out what seemed like a dream growing up. . I love my work (some may say even a little too much, hah) and I am SO incredibly grateful to this city for making me earn that gift, making me learn how to get comfortable with being uncomfortable, & work my ass off every day.✨ .
