I’ve named the new girls (there’s six; one is hiding in the bucket)! Meet Barb, Mary, Judy, Chris, Sheila and Dandelion.🤣 Inspiration came from my maternal side of the family. We’ll go paternal for the next set, I think. 💛
Are you a soaper? I started making my own soap roughly five years ago and was absolutely petrified. I wore my safety goggles suctioned to my forehead, gloves up to my ears and hair double secured up in a bun. Visions of going blind, a chemically burned esophagus and caustic skin wounds paralyzed me for so long. But guess what—it’s not a big deal. Lye has touched my skin, it stung a little and I rinsed it off. That’s it. Gone are the days of buying soap unless it’s homemade from a friend or fellow farmer.

My sleepless night was spent watching over some adorable baby goats and expecting mamas. •
Group members take turns on 2 hour shifts in 24 hours. We make sure all the babies get up, look energetic and have drank. We also check that the new moms are not sick. Also monitor the expecting moms! •
