Tonight I finally did some cardio for the first time in a long time. I picked the @polarglobal H10 heart rate monitor when it was 20% off (night still be) so I could attack cardio and burn this fat off of me. The @keiserfitness spin bike picked up my heart rate within 5 seconds and I was off to the races. Road for 50 min and burned 670 calories. I tried to keep my HR around 145-150 the whole time and did a fairly good job of making that happen. Over the lunch hour I hit triceps and abs. Hit 315 for a few sets of 4 on close grip bench using the smith machine and then proceeded to hit them from multiple angles. Hit abs with mostly Cable exercises. Overall, solid day of work. Today was a โ€œlightโ€ day at the gym so I decided to get the extra work in tonight in the basement, working up a solid lather. I believe this will be the strategy going forward: 2 โ€œheavyโ€ days, 1 โ€œlightโ€ day w/ cardio, repeat. I am on a mission to get a helluva lot leaner (got plenty of room for that) and continue to chase my strength goals. Week 2: Squats 285x3 325x3 375x4(AMRAP)(PR)(Shown in Video) Pin Squats: 295x3 315x3 335x3 365x2(PR) Another leg day in the books! Weather outside is pretty nasty but I got myself into the gym and pushed for some beautiful squats. I was supposed to do 365 on my AMRAP set but I decided to be a little mischievous and change it to 375 instead ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Hit it for 4 reps which is a solid PR. Actually wanted to get 5 but ended up failing. Followed it up with some heavy pin squats. Worked my way up to 365 and hit it for another PR of 2 solid reps. I like this variation of a cable lat pull-down. Hits the right spot, give it a shot at the end of your back day to help drive blood into the lats and achieve a good metabolic pump.
