There’s a certain satisfaction, even sense of relief, in popping a bubble—any bubble really. So much so, there’s even a Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day. Which I missed. HOW DARE I. Apparently it’s the last Monday of January each year—who knew?
This would be the most insignificant thing ever EXCEPT it turns out that bubble wrap can be a well-being hack. According to research cited by @incmagazine , rolling a sheet of bubble wrap onto your floor and annihilating those little puffs is as stress-alleviating as a half-hour massage. 💥
That same survey found that people who go to town on bubble wrap are 7% less likely to feel anxious about missing a flight (so pack a piece in your carry-on, yo!), and some 40% say that “quicker is better” when it comes to reducing angst. (Read: Bubble wrap, stat!)
Not convenient to stash a roll in your backpack/work/yoga/baby bag? Never fear: The Mugen Puchi Puchi Squeeze Bubble Pop Keychain (pic 2 here) at dhgate.com ( @amazon has a similar one) provides gratification on demand in an itty-bitty package. (I got one for my kindergartner: He calls it “Puccini.” 🤣🎶)
Second option: The free Bubble Wrap Popping app by Arcade (see 3rd pic here), which simulates—visually and via audio—the fulfillment of crushing bubbles.
Happy popping, friends. If all else fails, head over to @drpimplepopper and watch some facial “bubbles” go bye. 💥
