Bigger is not always better. Like egos and kidney stones, this burger proves that saying. When it was brought to the table it was comical, and I’m sure there was a grin on my face. If you workout at a gym, take a 5lbs free-weight plate and put it between a pair of Beats headphones and you’ll have some perspective. A little over half a pound (10oz) of ground steak with a little pretzel bun hat, plus avocado, because I care about my health ya know. Well, the laughs were short lived as soon as I bit into it. I soon realized I had over half a pound of over cooked, dry, unseasoned burger in front of me. Each bite was hopeful that maybe it was just over cooked around the edges and middle. Wrong. This became a battle for survival and my teammates were a side of ketchup, House chipotle mayo, and many glasses of water. The redemption came from that pretzel bun. Of all the pretzel buns I’ve had, this one by far had the strongest pretzel taste. It tasted exactly like one of those “German pretzel” appetizers you usually get with beer cheese and not like a regular bun that was painted to look like a pretzel. ‘Plant Based’ foods are all the rage at the moment, but I’ve found them either to be rather bland and tasteless, or mixed with things like wheat etc to mask the taste.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣‘Tempeh’, despite originating over 300 years ago in Indonesia, is still relatively unheard of in the UK. I came across some last week, and wow - it’s amazing! ⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Traditionally (and usually) made from Soya Beans, it can be made using any Legume, seed or grains. It’s fermented, which leaves you with the bean, seed or grain intact (and thus, it’s nutrients) and a firm ‘patty’ that’s not at all unlike meat.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Unlike Tofu, which I’ve found rather bland, it has quite a distinctive taste - I’d say somewhat like mushroom, others say nuttier.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣Tempeh is something you could feasibly grow and prepare yourself, with the addition of some live cultures. Are Nike encouraging fat acceptance with their latest mannequin?⁣ ⁣ I put this question into a poll on Instagram with the results coming in at 50/50.⁣ ⁣ I’m not surprised, to be honest as I’ve gone back and forward with what I think about it. ⁣ ⁣ Initially, I had 0 emotion towards it, the picture came up on my twitter feed, I don’t think I even looked twice at it. ⁣ ⁣ However, it then came up on Instagram and Facebook so it was too hard to ignore. ⁣ ⁣ Second reaction? like some I’d imagine I did think “why would Nike do that” a company so well known for being active and healthy, how could they encourage being overweight. ⁣ ⁣ I then thought about that statement again. ⁣ ⁣ Why would Nike, a company so well known for being active and healthy do that? ⁣ ⁣ There are two ways to look at it. ⁣ ⁣ 1. If you’re overweight, the chances are going to the gym is already an unbelievably uncomfortable experience. The process itself is enough to put people off, let alone thinking about being comfortable in clothes. ⁣ ⁣ So are Nike really encouraging people to be overweight? ⁣ Or, are they actually encouraging people who are overweight to go and exercise and be more comfortable doing it?⁣ ⁣ I think so. ⁣ ⁣ 2. The simple bit, Nike sell plus sized clothes. Is this not just them advertising that they have these items in stock? ⁣ ⁣ On the face of it, yes, it may look like Nike are going against what their brand stands for but in reality, they’re actually doing more for people who are overweight than many other brands out there. ⁣ ⁣ As a Trainer a big chunk of my clients are people who want to lose some weight, Nike are making my job easier by letting them exact clients be a little bit more comfortable doing so.⁣ ⁣ Oh and not only that, they’ve got a lot of free advertising in the process!

MEGA-VOLUME OATS 🥣it’s been forever since I had an oatmeal post! It was such a staple in my dorm room, but now being at home there’s so much other stuff I’ve been wanting to actually cook. But the oatmeal is back baby!! 🥣what if I told you this WHOLE GIANT BOWL was under 400 calories? Well it’s true! I was full for hourssss 🥣the secret to high-volume oats without racking up calories is to use low-cal, high-volume ingredients: I’m talking cauliflower rice, wheat bran, whipped egg whites, and lots of water! 🥣MACROS: 359 cals, 3F, 33P, 51C 🥣ingredients: •170g frozen riced cauliflower •1 packet Quaker no sugar added maple brown sugar •20g wheat bran •1 cup water + more as needed •1 cup nonfat milk •2T sugar free syrup •stevia to taste •pinch salt •3T Liquid egg whites •1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt 🥣directions: •put the cauliflower rice in a medium pot with 1/2 cup of water, and bring to a boil •once boiling, add the oats, wheat bran, and milk, and let boil again •bring down to a simmer, then add the syrup, stevia and salt •let simmer until it thickens up a bit, then add the other 1/2 cup of water (or more!) and continue simmering •whip the egg whites to stiff peaks, and when the oatmeal is almost at consistency, put the egg whites in 1/3 at a time. It’s important to stir them in fast so they don’t cook before separating - no one wants a chunk of egg white in their oatmeal lol •when it is to the consistency you want, put in a large (seriously, this is the biggest bowl I own) bowl and mix in the Greek yogurt 🥣tips: this is just the basic recipe without any add-ins, but would of course be delicious topped with a protein bar or with pb powder mixed in!

Nic dziwnego, mi też to nie dawało spać 😂 Jak na batona proteinowego, to makro średniawka (192 kcal, 7.8 fatu, 19,6 ww i 10.8 b), ale przecież nie o tym, nie o tym, przejdźmy do szamki! Wygląda trochę inaczej, taki chudszy, biedniejszy. Jeśli chodzi o smak, to jest on baaaardzo podobny do normalnego snickersa, ma zdecydowanie mniej ciągnącego się karmelu, no i konsystencja bardziej przypomina tę charakterystyczną dla batonów proteinowych. I love this so much, everyone in my house does, which makes it a brilliant family dinner that everyone eats! #winner Cook enough basmati rice for 4 people. Panfry pork mince until browned. Remove from pan. Sauté a chopped shallot, garlic clove, chopped ginger( 2cm cube) chopped chilli in the pan, return the mince, add cooked rice, add honey, soy sauce, japanese vinegar, sweet chilli sauce( plenty) water chestnuts, edamame, peas and peanuts. At the last minute add some pickled cucumber or courgette. Sprinkle on taco seasoning, the remainder of the peppers and onions. Add one can of diced tomatoes. Я одновременно люблю и ненавижу спорт! Люблю чувствовать своё тело, напряжение мышц, как тепло разливается по всему телу, повышается энергия и настроение! Но! Я не из тех людей, которые едят за четверых и не толстеют, но и не из тех кто посмотрит на торт и уже толстеет. Как говорит бабушка, я «нормальная». Почти. У меня мышцы накачиваются с дикой скоростью (не употребляю дополнительно протеин и не сижу ни на каких диетах, белка ем не так уж и много, и то, в основном растительного) Одно время я каждый день делала ширшасану (стояла на голове) и за 5 дней перекачала руки😑 (это было единственное упражнение на руки) Потом 2 недели не стояла на голове, чтобы ушли мышцы т.к. мне не нравилось. И так всегда! Я очень люблю разные виды спорта и могла бы заниматься чем угодно, от танцев до борьбы, но я ненавижу, когда тело перекачивается. Поясню, я очень люблю подкачанное тело, в том числе и руки, но всё хорошо в меру, поэтому иногда приходится специально сжигать перекачанные мышцы🤦‍♀️ А у вас есть подобные проблемы? HAM & CHEESE CALZONE 🧀saw that @wwg4life uses the Greek yogurt dough recipe to make calzones, which is absolutely brilliant, so I just had to give it a shot 🧀the dough can be kind of finicky, especially when using coconut flour and all purpose to keep the calories lower, so just play around with amounts until you find what works for you and your goals! 🧀MACROS: 356 cals, 5F, 43P, 37C 🧀ingredients •1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt •1T liquid egg whites •28g fat free shredded cheddar •28g coconut flour •15g all purpose flour •1t baking soda •seasonings of choice (I used nature’s seasonings, garlic powder, chili powder, parsley, and black pepper) •Kraft nonfat American single •1 oz Black Forest ham •14g fat free shredded mozzarella 🧀directions: •combine the yogurt and egg whites, then stir in the cheese •combine the next 4 bullets in another bowl, and whisk until no clumps. Then pour dry into wet and combine until smooth (may need to use your hands after a certain point - if so, wet your hands first so it doesn’t stick) •refrigerate for at least 30 minutes •spray parchment paper with nonstick spray, and flatten the dough into an oblong shape on it (wet your hands first again) •top one half with pieces of the Kraft, then ham, then mozzarella, and fold the other side over it, pressing the edges together •slide the parchment paper onto a baking pan, and spray the top of the calzone •bake at 350F for 20 minutes, then 400 for 5 more
