Make. Yourself. A. PRIORITY. 🙌🏼❤️ . . . Sounds pretty simple huh? But it’s actually something people say they are doing but aren’t. This is something I’ve learn recently and it’s definitely took years for me to realize what I’ve been doing wrong. I use to think I was taking care of myself and really working out and making myself a priority. In actual reality I was letting myself down every time. I wasn’t setting myself up to be successful at all. I would go to boot camp class and waste a work out class because I didn’t push myself and/or I would over eat right after. I would then go drinking and eat everything in front of me. Then the next day I wouldn’t feel so great. I did this for years YEARS. And every year I would say “I need to get fit. Lose weight. Work out. eat right.” And I never realized that I wasn’t putting myself 1st. I didn’t want it that bad. I was letting myself down this whole time. Now after all this time I’ve woken up. I want it bad. I know what I need to do. I’ve always known. I just need to do it. And do it right. I’m going to put me 1st and there’s just no more excuses. I hope whatever journey you are on, I hope you aren’t wasting time that are always setting yourself for success every single time. I’ve obviously been posting some stories today, but prior to that I took a 24 hour social media break/hiatus/holiday whatever you want to call it and although short, it was 👁 -opening. • Eye-opening about some really poor habits I’ve created over the past so many years. IG is such a great tool and I love the ability to be in community with so many people but it’s still not real life. • Anyone with an iPhone knows that you now receive weekly notifications about how much time on average you spend on your phone. I’m not going to share my # with you but I’ve consistently been pretty embarrassed by it. Some weeks I manage to get it down by 10-20% but to me, I would like that number to be under the 2 hr mark—per day (I bet some of you are gasping at the fact that anyone could even spend two hours on their 📱 per day let alone more. 😂). • Anyway, back to my point. It’s ridiculous because you’d think after a certain age you would just stop caring what people think but in this social media driven world as much as I want to help and motivate others, I would be lying if I said I don’t care about receiving affirmation. • Positive affirmation is not at all a bad thing and is one of my ❤️ languages BUT the relationships I should be cultivating most are right at 🏠. • Also for all you HIMYM fans, remember when Ted would quote his mom saying nothing good ever happened after 2 am? Well nothing good ever happens on your phone when you get into bed. I honestly had some of the best 😴 in a long time the other night because I didn’t look at my phone before bed. And of course my husbands only told me for like 3 years not to look at my phone in bed 🙄...he was right. • I was afraid of a break but now I feel like it’s definitely going to be an intentional part of my week to reset and reevaluate my priorities. I definitely encourage anyone whose been thinking of a break or been afraid of one like me to just go for it. Since people have been asking; I've decided to not compete at Swedish nationals, Euro- or Worldarm this year. The reason is to spare myself a little because of my illness while I'm not 100 % in shape. However much I love going to competitions it's not always so good for me, since it sometimes makes my illness worse. So avoiding the stress of weightloss, performance pressure, intense socializing, adrenaline rushes and travelling, that are all things that can make my illness worse, and just focus on training will hopefully make me better in every aspect so I can come back as new in 2020! #livingwithchronicillness #nopityplease #armwrestling #priorities #2020willbemyyear

I'm a Lucky guy!!! My wife and mother in law do all my cooking!!! - Did I say I'm Lucky...so lucky and blessed! - Thank you!❤ - Ya see way way long ago...way long ago!!!!! - I was a competitive bodybuilder, and spent hours upon hours in the gym...and prepared my food and would not deviate from that!!! - It got so bad that when we went to a special occasion like a wedding....I would literally go outside to where my car was parked and eat a can of tuna and a baked potato and then go back inside...and eat NOTHING!!! - I was always working out so much that my girlfriend (my wife now) joined the gym that was an hour away...just to be with me!! - After I (retired) from competitive bodybuilding....I promised myself that I wouldn't wish that Lifestyle on any one!! - So that's why I enjoy Strength Training only once or twice per week for only 20 minutes....and sprinkle in any where 1, 2 or 3 steady state cardio sessions for only 25 minutes per week! - I just wanted to show that you can get in shape for general fitness by doing the least amount possible and still get positive results!! - It's worked for me from 28 years old to now 54 years old!! - And I eat whatever I want, just portion controlled meals! Throughout my day! Today is breaded pork chops and lentils soup...this is broken up into 4 meals throughout the day...than I will eat dinner with the family...again whatever they make...no special preparation, just normal delicious food!! Just the right size portion for me! - It's really all I do! If you have any questions please ask me.

I have a confession to make ... I actually don’t look at my emails 1st thing in the morning, I don’t have notifications on for them either. ___ I don’t even feel guilty for not making emails my priority. I think an inbox can sometimes be a source of overwhelm... ___ I do however have a system in place to manage my inbox - I check my emails at certain times of the day, will place emails in my calendar and/or flag if they require an action, I also won’t respond or expect a response at out of office hours ... if for example I have a client project that lasts for days and I’m not at my desk for a couple of days on a row - I will read my emails at lunch breaks or at the end of the day and will respond there and then if it requires a short response but if it is going to take time - I will write the response and schedule the email to be sent the next morning . Let’s just say I dislike feeling a slave to my inbox and I am protective of my family time and sleep. ___ I know that for some jobs in certain industries it is hard to be so disciplined and strict with email. And I also know that every time I say “emails are others people’s business” it resonates so much with almost everyone... __ Think about it: emails are really other people demanding something they need or require ... Oh yeah ... View from our trampoline. Forecast shows snow on the way. It was nice to get outside for fresh air and fun on the trampoline the past couple days. I love the sky, the clouds, the sun, the trees, the air, nature, and all of God’s plenty. It’s so good! I’m grateful for this life and each moment I’m given to enjoy it. I love spending time with our children. They are growing up so quickly. Today, our first born was spotlighted by his school, acknowledging accomplishments as he prepares to embark on high school. This morning, I attended a Kindergarten overview meeting, in preparation for our youngest to begin elementary school (tbh, I might hold him another year since he’s an August baby and has a speech delay and, quite frankly, I want more time!) and I’m feeling alllllll the feels. I’m excited, proud, happy, nervous, unsure, sad, hopeful, reluctant, and confident. My head is spinning! Being a parent is a challenging whirlwind of love, life, worry, joy, growth, failure, success, and sooo much more. It’s indescribable and incredibly rewarding and humbling. These bad boys have helped me lose almost 20 lbs since October! plus apple cider vinegar pills. How crazy is that?! With no exercise! Taco Tuesday #8 : Here’s how Taco Tuesday went down today...So, I bought a Groupon for blowouts at the student salon because #frugal. But I needed to stop and get cash to tip the girl who was going to perform the magic trick of taming the hot mess I call my hair. Then, I wanted to break it into smaller bills and it’s Tuesday and I need tacos anyway, so I stopped at Torchy’s for breakfast; paid cash. * BUT because I didn’t want to be late to my appointment, I got my food to go and had the ever so classy parking lot picnic, front seat feast, backseat breakfast, or whatever you want to call eating food in your car. I shoveled in breakfast tacos and walked into the salon with a minute to spare. AND I had the foresight to throw the wrappers away on my way in, so I wouldn’t give my car that new taco smell. * I’m feeling good about today. And my hair looks awesome. Oh yeah, Torchy’s breakfast tacos are pretty great, too. It's all about priorities people. If you make something a priority you can justify the means necessary to make it happen. . Take Thrive for instance... I know a TON of people who have tried Thrive, LOVE Thrive, feel AMAZING on Thrive, but stop taking it due to cost. . LETS TALK: being overwhelmed 😣 The past few weeks I’ve had a lot of my plate. From teaching, to going through Pilates training, to studying to become a PT, to growing my business through Instagram, starting a YouTube channel & not to mention life! I have a history of over loading my plate & in the past I’ve gotten so overwhelmed that I’ve quit things because I’ve become too stressed out. This time I have a different approach because every single thing that is on my plate is amazing & only helping me grow in my career. There are times when I think, I am so lucky these are such amazing opportunities but I also sometimes ask myself, can I handle all of this? As hard as it may seem to juggle it all, the truth is it is possible! You just need to create an action plan👊🏻 Here are some tips to create a plan to no feel so overwhelmed: ⚡️make lists: lists are life lol I literally make lists for everything. Writing out everything you need to do or have going on helps break it down visually and might not look as scary as it seems in your head. ⚡️prioritize: figure out what is most important & organize each task from 1-10 {most important to least important}. Prioritize your week and figure out what needs your time now and what can wait. ⚡️plan, plan, plan: get yourself a planner {if you don’t have one idk how you live} and start to plan out your week. Day by day break down exactly how much time you need to focus on that task or activity & then go as far to set a time. {ex. If you have a break between lunch & when you want to work out, “Tuesday a 2 pm I will study”} ⚡️stay present: try your best to focus on each task & that task only in that moment. Anxiety arises when we start to think about everything we have to do so try to stay focused on one thing at a time. ⚡️express gratitude: rather than thinking I have all of this to do, switch your dialogue to “I get to...”. Changing your dialogue from “I have to study” to “I get to further my education” will help you feel more grateful for everything you have going on. . . Trust me I know having a lot on your plate can be extremely overwhelming but you CAN do it! Be patient with yourself, take a deep breath & make a plan!
