Hedonist: In broad terms, a #hedonist is someone who tries to maximise pleasure and minimize pain. The popular idea is to indulge in an insatiable hunger for all things pleasurable and self-indulgent.
The practical rational definition of it (which is often overlooked) is when one can savor everyday pleasures, relish while they’re happening, use all senses and attention to actively anticipate, and reflect on them in an immersive way WHILE ALSO managing / balancing / prioritizing important challenges & concerns.
It is no surprise that hundreds of mental health studies show pleasurable emotions are associated with broader creative thinking, and a range of positive outcomes like better resilience, well-being, physical health, stress/anxiety relief, relaxation, motivation, drive, vibrancy and longevity.
Its important to defiantly shake off the idea that being in a state pleasure or happiness is shameful, less meaningful or frivolous and become early adopters of this rational kind of hedonism. It takes *tremendous* hard work to be (and maintain!) happiness and actively seek pleasure. It is a very valuable life goal to have, yet an underrated and appreciated state of being.
