The sun has come, the temperatures have dropped comfortably below 80°F and it's blue skies. TCM - Magen Yin Mangel. 🙄☝️🌱 Häufiges Symptom ist die Gastritis, Verstopfung, innere Unruhe, Schlafstörungen. Ursache ist oft zu spätes Essen, heiße Lebensmittel und Gewürze, Stress. Kaffee, Rauchen. Die Nahrungsmittel sind oft gebacken oder gebraten. Therapie: Kochen der Nahrung und nur dezent würzen. Kaffeekonsum und andere Drogen sehr reduzieren. Nachts oder spät abends nicht mehr schwer essen. Suppen befeuchtet den Magen. Man sollte nie heiß essen und nicht bei Ärger oder Stress. Die Nahrung sollte leicht zu verdauen sein. Medikamente auf nüchternen Magen führen auch zu Gastritis. Gastritis erkennt man auch an Zahnfleischbluten. Bei Gastritis ist Kapha zu schwach. Sour and pungent tastes are the two Pitta tastes. To reduce Kapha and Vata dosha aggravations, combos of sour and pungent herbs and food types are recommended. D for #dosha What is DOSHA? Often it is referred to as a person’s individual constitution, body type. It is correct but a dosha is much more than that. From Sanskrit DOSHA translates as something that is constantly changing, and is more of a type of energy that manages us than just a body type. There are three main doshas named 🌀❄️Vata, that is governed by the air and space as elements, having their qualities - cold, unstable, light, dry 🔥💦 Pitta is governed by the fire and water and is therefore hot, active, flexible 🌏💦 Kapha is under the influence of earth and water and possesses such qualities as heavy, moist, cold, uneasy to move and change. *Werbung Guten Morgen, ich starte heute morgen mit einem tollen Tee, den ich von @teeausnepal bekommen habe. PITTA, diesen Tee kannte ich noch nicht und auf meinem Blog berichte ich explizit darüber. Kommt mal vorbei. 💞 Wir ihr auf meinem Foto sehen könnt ist der Tee zum einen äußerlich in einem Baumwollbeutel verpackt, der innen einen Beutel aus Folie offenbart. Auf dem Baumwollbeutel seht auch, wie man den Tee zubereiten soll. So hielt ich mich auch daran, doch er war mir hier irgendwie zu wenig intensiv, was ich dann bei den weiteren Tassen deutlich erhöhte, aber dies kann man nach seinem eigenem Geschmacksempfinden handhaben. Der Tee ist lose und wirkt optisch sehr grün. Öffnet man dann den Beutel, so strömt einem ein sehr frischer, intensiver Duft nach Kräutern in die Nase. Das mag ich ja total und zu Beuteltee ist das gar kein Vergleich und um Welten besser. Da riecht und sieht man nicht nur den Unterschied, nein man schmeckt ihn auch. Selbst wenn man ihn mit Honig oder dergleichen genießen kann , so trinke ich meine Tee immer unverfälscht und pur. Ich brauche da keine Zucker, Honig, Milch oder sonstiges darin. Ich mag das lieber so. Der Tee hat eine gelb, leicht bräunliche Farbe und schmeckt? Ja, schwer zu beschreiben, denn er schmeckt nicht nur kräuterig sondern irgendwie frisch, leicht würzig. Da muss man sich am Besten ein eigenes Bild machen. Ich mag Tee morgens am Liebesten und diesen auf der Arbeit in der Früh besonders. Er rüttelt mich wach und gleichzeitig ist es ein purer Genuss für mich. Auf die Ziehzeit habe ich schon geachtet und ihn immer so gute 8 Minuten ziehen lassen. Bei der Wassertemperatur musste ich mich auf der Arbeit auf den Wasserkocher einlassen, doch ich denke, das hat geschmacklich keinen Unterschied gemacht. Der Beutel mit 100 g kostet 5,30 € und da bekommt man ne Menge Tassen raus. Therefore, there cannot be just one standard diet or lifestyle or yoga routine which can work for everyone. This unique blueprint is the specific proportion of 'Doshas' in all of us. Doshas are nothing but the condensed form of five elements. Vata is primarily Air, Kapha is water and Pitta is Fire. All of us are born with a specific proportion of these doshas which was actually decided at the time of conception itself! And that specific doshic mix is called our 'Prakriti' or the constitution that we were born with. As long as we live in harmony with this constitution we can maintain good health and live a productive life. First day of fall 🍃 // Were you ready for it? I am definitely not. I have been traveling so much that my body is still trying to figure out which time zone it's on 😬. Thanks to Ayurveda, I have some tips to help me stay balanced when the weather begins to change where I am living. 🔅 In Ayurvedic terms, we are beginning to enter Vata season - i.e. when the weather starts to become cold, dry, windy, and rough (qualities that mirror the Vata dosha). Ahh fall 🍂🍁 where everything slows down and it’s time for reflection after all the movement of spring and summer. . Just as the plants drop leaves to nourish their roots, we must do the same. . If you’re familiar with Ayurveda, fall represents Vata, or the air dosha. This manifests as cold and dry weather. . Because of this, our skin and hair often get very dry so we might need extra moisturizers during this time. But, moisture also comes from within so adding oily foods to the diet can be helpful as well. . Another important element to add is warming herbs and spices such as cardamom, rosemary, ginger, cumin, dandelion, and burdock roots. Again, this will balance the cold aspect of fall whereas oils will balance the dryness 👌🏼 . If you’re interested in Ayurveda, I highly recommend The Idiots Guide to Ayurveda by @iamsahararose as well as her new Ayurvedic cookbook Eat Feel Fresh which will help to put all your doshas in balance 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 . As women, we are very tuned into the cycles of Earth bc our menstrual cycle is synched with the moon. We inherently feel the changes of seasons and are overall much more cyclic than men. . Instead of seeing it as something negative, I think it’s beautiful. We are so connected with Mother Earth as women and it’s something to be respected not shrugged off and neglected. . In this patriarchal society, slowing down is generally frowned upon, but doing so allows us to emerge much stronger come spring time. . P R A N A Y A M A This past week I have been on an intensive teacher training to study Ayur-Yoga (Ayurvedic Yoga). Well, it has totally blown my mind. My idea of yoga and what it means has gone deeper into the realms of how to apply this to aid directly in the healing process of specific needs of individual people. -------------------------- What struck me most was the profound effect of pranayama (breathwork) and how each practice has particular effects on the mind and body, meaning that you can use the breath (in its simplest form) to help significantly reduce or clear symptoms of illness or dis-ease. When combined with particular yoga poses and Ayurvedic lifestyle changes such as diet, pranayama has the power to transform the body from sickness to health. How amazing is that? ----------------------------- Once you know your dosha and what your concern is, your subdoshic imbalance can then be worked out and from there a prescription for the pranayama, yoga and Ayurvedic lifestyle applications can be created. ----------------------------- For example if you suffer from feeling cold, regular Bhastrika pranayama as well as yoga sequences such as surya namaskara to boost the circulation can help warm the body. Very good for Vata and Kapha dosha. To cool the body down, Sheetali and/or Sheetkari pranayama - particularly for Pitta dosha. Or Bhramari for Vata to help draw the focus inwards and help induce a good sleep. To gain the benefits of these practices they need to be done properly with mindfulness. They are active pranayama practices that are best done in the morning to energise and invigorate the mind and body. According to Ayurveda, our body is composed of three main doshas (energies) of the body named - vata, pitta, and kapha. Each one of them is responsible for the physiological functions of mind & body. The balanced vata governs all the movements, balanced pitta is responsible for the metabolism, and balanced kapha provides structure and lubrication to the body. When they are in the balanced state they perform their functions properly and keep the body healthy. On contrary, an imbalance in any one of them leads to the ailments depending upon which dosha is disturbed or out of balance.
