Thanks @weledaaustralia for sending out this cool Bee B&B kit. Kids at Berkeley PS had a great time painting and putting it together, not to mention discussing the importance of our insect friends in the garden!
Welcome to Berkeley PS's Permaculture Education Garden. It started from a patch of kikuyu grass that needed regular mowing and is now an emerging productive food forest managed by the students. Just wait til the white and black mulberry trees grow up. They'll provide sun in winter, shade in summer and plenty of delicious fruit for the kids!

We made it!!! Thanks to everyone involved for making such a positive environmental education space at Berkeley PS. More photos to come!!
Check out our new safety first saw horse. This enables kids to use a saw safely without getting their hands on the way. Here's a year 3 student slicing through the banana stems. Straight back in the garden for those pieces fo edging, compost or just chop n drop!
Looking for an easy school fundraiser? We made over $2500 from online donations from our community for our very first Color Run at Bellambi Public! The kids enjoyed the giveaways and covering their fav 😉 teacher with food grade powders.

It might be the middle of November with lows under 30 degrees, but today we still have flowers, and our bees are still foraging. It's the little things like this that make me smile as winter creeps closer.

I don't know about you guys but I really enjoy opening my front door to see organic superfoods hanging down within reach. Can you count the number of passionfruit you can see from the front door? First person to get the right answer will receive a box of fresh passionfruit. (Continental USA residents only) A few more weeks and they'll be ripe. Passion fruit is full of vitamin C, antioxidants and also is a mild antidepressant and sleep aide. It's prolific, it fruits year round when conditions are right, it needs little to no care except trimming back and its easy to propagate! It's a wonder plant!
