Dave and I are gearing up for a head-to-tail 30 day keto carnivore diet. 🥩We will be moderating our protein, having animal fats, incorporating intermittent fasting as well as extended fasting. We plan to check our glucose and ketones. 🥩Our foods will include the highest quality animal foods (grass-fed, pasture raised or wild caught) beef, chicken, pork, lard, duck fat, liver, salmon roe, bone broth and pemmican. 🧀 Dave will be also include eggs, grass fed cheese, butter and cream, raw when available. 🥚 I am allergic to dairy and eggs so I will be eliminating these. 🔜 I plan to do posts of our meals and then either an IG Live, IGTV or IG story on our progress and results. ❓WHY: My CRP has been chronically high on keto. CRP stands for C Reactove Prtein and measure the level of inflammation in the body. The only time it was normal and below normal was when I did a carnivore diet 2 years ago for six months. My naturopath was on board and helping me to track how I was doing with blood work. Dave claims he felt best on a carnivore diet and it simplified our life so much! Back then, there wasn’t much info or support on this way of eating. 🕒Now, it has exploded and there is so much more support and info! ♥️ All of my blood work during this time improved dramatically over that six month period. I stopped because my morning glucose was too high. My insulin was going up and we gained weight. I now see that my protein was too crazy high and I wasn’t having enough fat. 😎 So we are tweaking things this time and we are incorporating some nutrient dense animal foods. Stay tuned.
