I cleaned up my workplace today- believe me, it was time 😬.Since I live in Manhattan, space is incredibly expensive & a corner of my bedroom doubles up as my studio. It’s not easy, but I’m grateful for all I have :) 🙏
While cleaning I realized how many supplies I have gathered since I started selling. Here are some pictures of paints, powder pigments, resin pastes, glitters, mediums, gesso, varnishes, spray paints, a million (!!) brushes, crushed glass, beads, stones, sand, starfish, amethysts, Quartz points. And then come non-glam but important things like respirators, painters tape, heat gun, glue gun, butane torch, gloves, glasses, sand paper, leveler etc. 🙌🏽
When you or I buy a piece of art, apart from the artist’s creative expertise, time and expression, we also pay in part, for these supplies, and so many more that aren’t here, like the inventory of canvases, wood panels, studios, packaging materials. 🦋
I really never thought about all this before I started selling art, but always glad to see things from a different perspective.
