There is a new blog post up and I have to say it was the hardest one to press ‘publish’ thus far in my blogging journey (more on that in my insta-Stories). Sadness is hard. But God... Blog link in bio. 🙏🏻💛
Is that you, Fall? Oh, my bad. It’s not you. Hey, 88 degrees, I almost forgot you were still here. 🙄 I’m one of those people that doesn’t put Fall decor out until at least October 1st. I love the PSL ☕, but it just doesn’t feel right yet to me. What do you guys think? #fallfeels . A little Rasta customization project with some cool patches on my denim romper and a little story. I’m sure by now you guys have noticed that I wear this necklace ALOT 😅. I made a post about it before but it’s worth repeating. This bead is called “sibitchi” “see-bee-chee” it is a traditional Cape Verdean bead used mostly to make jewelry. When I did a search about Sibitchi I found a Facebook page that describes them as a “set of pebbles used in the country as a symbol of transformation of suffering into creative energy.“* I have never been told their official meaning and was not familiar with this particular interpretation of the sibitchi, but I like it! As a child I was always told the beads were worn for “protection,” an old wives tale of sorts, but I do not wear them as such. To me they are a representation of the indigenous culture in Cape Verde and this is why I wear them. I was so happy when I found these polka dot sneakers because they reminded me of my sibitchi beads and I couldn’t wait to wear them and match them to my necklace. ❤️💛💚✨✨ * * * Source: Hélio Santos Facebook page* * * * * *
