The other week I attended The KeepWell Summit. Not too sure what to expect, I saw it as a great opportunity to see what different corporate bodies were doing to nourish the well-being of their employees and also a chance for me to reflect on the culture I am creating at NutriKate, as it slowly but surely grows. 🙂 _____________________ 🍍🍍🍍 _____________________ Two of my favourite sayings that I took from the day were “Culture eats strategy for breakfast” and “Small hinges open big doors”, both relevant to what I am trying to create at NutriKate but the later in particular mirroring the work we do with our clients to make small, sustainable changes to better their health and help them to meet their desired goals. Small, incremental steps can be very powerful. _____________________ 🍍🍍🍍 _____________________ This “always on” culture that is becoming more and more prevalent was also touched on. This is an area, like many of you reading this, I find myself being guilty of. Where being able to work from anywhere can sometimes detract from your designated time out or your time with loved ones which is needed for the soul and for relationships to grow. We are all humans, we bring our whole selves to work (whether we try to make that evident or not) and being happy in the outside world will have a huge impact on our performance in our working world. Like all elements in your life the happier you are as a human, the better everything becomes so it is important that we nurture and grow our happiness. Great to see so many employers recognising this importance and investing in their employees’ happiness, health and well-being from active initiatives and nutrition talks to how they decorate the office! I’ve spent a lot of time out of the gym with my recent ACL surgery combined with finishing my second year of uni! 📚 ⁣ ⁣ I’m slowly getting back into things, pre surgery I had a PB deadlift of 90KG but after working on my knee with physio and coming back stronger like I promised I would, I managed to smash 140KG (including bar) in April! ⁣ ⁣ Since then I’ve lost a lot of motivation and really need to start training and eating consistently, something I have always struggled with. ⁣ ⁣ This page is just a little bit of motivation for myself and anyone else 💪🏻 ⁣ ⁣ I am at the very start of my journey and I’m a million miles away from where I want to be but will be, so if you want a page and a person that is going to be a realistic representation, then enjoy! 🤘🏻

Think about how you’re feeling before you make your order, and how you’d like to feel when the drink is done. Make a choice, re-evaluate when it’s done, and adjust for next time if needed. Today, I turn 29. The top left picture was before I started this journey 5 years ago. I haven't been even slightly close to perfect over those 5 years. I have learned a lot, still have a lot more to learn, made a lot of mistakes, but most importantly I am ready to push myself harder than ever. I was down to 128 lbs when I was 23. Now almost 60 lbs later, I'm hoping to keep reaching goals and keep pushing myself each day. Waking up at 2:45am to make it to the gym before work hasn't been an easy schedule, but if you want something bad enough you make it work. I have a lot of goals to reach before I hit 30 and I'm looking foward to pushing myself over this next year. It's a little scary to take a step back and realize how fast life happens. Having a false perspective when you are younger of "adults" having it all together... the truth of the matter is we are all trying to figure it out day by day. Oggi mi sono preparata questo pranzo con la pasta che ci hanno dato allo stand di Jury Chechi al Rimini wellness, condita con ragù fatto in casa e peperoni gialli (e parmigiano che ho aggiunto dopo aver fatto la foto 😂) Direi un abbinamento fantastico e un piatto piuttosto completo 😋 La pasta in questione ha un sapore poco più rustico di quella integrale, contiene più proteine (20g), più fibre e meno grassi! ma senza nessun aggiunta strana, infatti gli ingredienti sono solo farina integrale di grano monococco e acqua 💯 Beh, che dire?! One pan and done! 🍝 😬 #foodvideos #bakedspaghetti #vegetarian ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ INGREDIENTS 1 pound spaghetti, not cooked ¼ cup olive oil 3 garlic cloves, minced 1/2 onion, thinly sliced (about 1 cup) 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste 14.5 oz diced tomatoes ½ cup sliced green pepper ½ cup sliced red pepper 3 cups water 2 cups marinara 2 sprigs basil, plus torn leaves for garnish 2 cups mozzarella cheese Grated parmesan cheese, for serving INSTRUCTIONS 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. 2. Place the uncooked spaghetti in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Add the olive oil, garlic, onions, Italian seasoning and salt. Uses your hands to gently toss and evenly distribute the ingredients. 3. Add the tomatoes, peppers, water, marinara and basil on top of the spaghetti, and toss it again using tongs to evenly coat the spaghetti with the sauce and vegetables. 4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top to cover the spaghetti. 5. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 45 – 55 minutes or until the top is browned and bubbly. 6. COCONUT & LIME SORBET Things you need 1 1/2 cups dextrose 2 cups water 1 lime, zest removed in wide strips with a vegetable peeler 2 cups coconut milk SERVES 4 Here’s how 1 Put the dextrose, water and lime zest into a medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until the dextrose has dissolved. Increase the heat to medium and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in the coconut milk. Remove from the heat and cool completely. 2 Pour into an ice-cream machine and churn according to manufacturer’s directions until frozen. Spoon into 4 glasses to serve. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
