While we were taking pictures, we saw the living environment of homeless people. They live in a pile of ragged quilts, with cigarette ends and rubbish around. In raining and windy weather, a broken umbrella is their only shelter to protect them and to make them feel safe. In contrast, we live in a comfortably warm house with our family around, surrounded by the aroma of food and the laugh of our children. People refuse to “welcome” the homeless people. We stereotypically view them as ignorant, depraved and dirty, because most people's impression toward homeless people leads to the fact that they will not able to change their life even though they make progress. Since our bias, we usually don't accept them. Therefore, they become more helpless living on the edge of society. Under the indifference and disregard of most people, we become bystanders. Homelessness becomes a group of people who are desperately in need of help, but not a lot of hope shows up in their suffering in the darkness. Even if the government wants to manage and solve this problem, there are not enough resources for all homeless people to reenter society normally again. We should gather together, accept them, and help them find a home.
