Joined up with the iconic run club for a run this morning at Cornwall Park. Was really good to get out and run somewhere different, the course was mostly dirt track which I’m not used to running on at all and it slowed me down considerably, about half way the main bunch of people had gone out of sight so a bit of GPS work and some exploring, I was able to make it back to the start. A lot slower than I’m used to but certainly an adventure run for me. P.S: I also won a challenge prize! Woohoo! 😅 #theiconicsportchallenge

Hey guys! I know I've been MIA recently... I've actually been spending MORE time in the gym than you'd think, mostly because I now work as one of our daycare providers!😂 It's been about a week since I've been in to actually focus on ME. I love my job; I love kids and I get to spend all my time playing with so many unique children. 🤹 Today's workout was focused on upper body, cycling through high to low weights to reach a higher number of total reps than usual. I usually stay under 60 reps and hats obviously where I'm failing when it comes to growth. I I did at least 80 reps totally during my tricep supersets and put in about the same for my bicep work. I try to keep my shoulder workouts light and high-rep since I deal with a lot of shoulder mobility issues, last thing I need is another shoulder injury. For most of my life I was seen as the “sporty” girl. I played active/contact sports my whole life, and being active was my life. I loved it. Once college ended, and real adulthood began.. I found it extremely difficult to stay on top of my diets and workouts. There I was 220 pounds, yes you read that right, and miserable. And trust me it showed. Fast forward, and here we are 95 pounds lighter. Finally getting back to who I was and taking my health much more seriously. Happy Tuesday friends... lesss go 🤟🏽💪🏽

(OPTIONAL) 3RD LEG DAY DAY ⬇️ Did you know that light to no weight with high reps increases muscle hypertrophy aka muscle growth? There are many controversies saying that body weight exercises do not grow muscle. Body weight exercises ALONE will not grow your muscle; however, adding body weight exercise to your heavy weight workout routine can make a big difference in your overall growth. Working your muscle fibers to their metabolic limits (aka metabolic stress) through the repetition of actions to muscular failure (aka high reps with little to no weight) is ONE of three ways to increase muscle hypertrophy (of course the other two are progressive tension overload and muscle damage/repair through heavy lifting). Personally, I have seen AMAZING results adding a bodyweight leg day to my routine for the past 5 months.
