Just wanna share some of the food we tried in Morocco 😋
1️⃣ Chicken pastilla: Tastes a bit like the chicken pie we have in Spore except the pastry is crispier! And I love how they dust icing sugar, cinnamon and ground almonds on the top 😍 The sweet and savoury mix is to die for!!!
2️⃣ Harira soup (Moroccan lentil soup): I ordered it at almost every meal but the best one I had was from Bab Ssour in Chefchaouen! Soooo good 🤤 It’s almost like the Moroccan version of a minestrone soup, yum!
3️⃣ Rfissa: Stewed chicken on a bed of shredded crepes! The shredded crepes tastes like a fettuccine-ban mian hybrid! Love it when it soaks up all the sauce!!! 😍 This dish wasn’t easy to find in Morocco but definitely try it if you can! We had it in Zayna in Casablanca!
4️⃣ Beef tagine with prunes: The meat was incredibly tender!!! The addition of prunes is absolutely ingenious! Love how the beef tastes somewhat sweet yet salty at the same time, delicious! 🤤
5️⃣ Moroccan mint tea: Can’t say you’ve been to Morocco if you haven’t had their mint tea! I might have been addicted to the tea during my trip (can replace my fav bbt alr lol) Reminder: always ask for less sugar! By default, their tea is served with 150% sugar 🤣🙃
6️⃣ Not sure what’s the name of this pastry - Shebakia??? Anyway it was the bomb! It was coated in honey yet it wasn’t crazy sweet! Yum 👌🏼
7️⃣ Briouat: It looks and tastes like samosa hahaha I think it might be samosa? 😂
