I’m still in awe that I lost 40 pounds this past year, the left picture was taken on my birthday last year (May 28th for those of you who want to send presents) and the right was taken yesterday morning. It’s hard to see changes in your own body when you look at yourself in the mirror everyday, but pictures have been an awesome way to reflect and see how far I’ve come. Morning chest and ab workout. Really excited to be seeing the upside down triangle shape. Went fairly heavy but not max I'll save that for this afternoon🙂. Decline Bench 3×20 Dumbell flyes 3×20 (arms and elbows high) Hammer strength chest press 3×20 Peck deck flyes 3×20 Knee raises 3 sets to failure. Whole workout was geared towards upper chest right at the insertion to the collarbone and deltoids. I don’t believe in perfect eating! I have foods like brownies, cake, and wine. I don’t save them for special cheat meals or cheat days. When I used to do all those things, all I would do was obsess about when I could eat them. My time and energy went to managing my willpower and when I couldn’t hold out long enough, I’d give in. Then I would spend the next week beating myself up for being weak and pathetic, entering a never ending cycle of shame followed by the promise that I’d finally stick to my diet and get back on the wagon. Sounds shitty, right? That’s because it is. It took time. It’s been a journey. But now food has zero power over me. By actually trusting myself and giving myself permission to eat any food I want at anytime, nothing is forbidden and I have to spend no energy managing that. Truth is, 90% of the time I just don’t want those foods. I’m not saying you’ll get there right away. You’re going to need to walk your own path. You may need professional help, and that’s OK. But it’s possible to get away from the all or nothing perfect diet mentality. Choosing foods that nourish is a start.

#minigoals I like to set myself mini goals it keeps me focussed and on it. I’m attending a wedding in 7 weeks so I set myself a goal to look and feel as good as I did in the photo (swipey,swipey). So goal set, brilliant. Check figures from back then to now... I’m smaller in all areas apart from bust and bum (we don’t complain when they go up.) the only big difference is my weight. I’m not hung up by that number as I know I’m carrying more muscle. So I guess I better go back to the drawing board with that mini goal, as I wanted to be smaller than her and I already am... who knew. 🤷🏻‍♀️. So now I’m thinking I want to reduce waist size and grow back (so under bust measurement).
