Great post TRAINING DONE WRONG VS. TRAINING DONE RIGHT by  @kruckifitness - Taking the wrong approaches to certain aspects of your training can really slow your progress. If you learn to master these certain things, you're putting yourself in a much better position for long term gains. - First off, use a workout routine that fits your schedule. If you are on a 6 day push/pull/legs split but can really only go to the gym 4 times a week, then you're not maximizing your chances to grow. If you can only go to the gym 4 days a week, use an upper/lower split. Make sure, along with a routine that fits your schedule, to train your body parts 2-3x/week. Whether you're training 3,4,5 or 6 days a week, you can still get a lot of volume on all body parts. Spreading out the training of your body parts to multiple times a week will force more frequency on it, and will be easier to do rather than obliterating a body part once a week. Third, train heavy, by training for both strength and hypertrophy. Many will only train light and go for the pump. These people usually don't make as much progress. Lastly, STAY CONSISTENT! the routine you're on won't bring great results if you are not consistent with it. You can't expect to see great results if you are constantly skipping workouts multiple times a week. A little snippet from my back session. Feels good to be back at the gym doing what I love. I’ve listed below my exercises and sets. I don’t do high volume. I go for low volume and high intensity. You will also see that I do my heavier movements like bent over barbell rows and deadlifts towards the end of my session. Today’s workout fueled by pocari sweat 💦 Which was very much needed - just landed in Vietnam yesterday, strong coffee, not enough carbs at breakfast and Jetlag made for a shaky / light headed training session, but somehow legs felt strong. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Paused squats 10-10-7-7-7 finished with a max set with final weight from last working set of 7. (Finished with 85kg for 11) followed by rack pulls - 3x6 increasing weight- 110kg/ 120kg and final set of 130kg where I used straps. If we did all the things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves. • #LSFFitChallenge Week 1 Fit Test done! And while I have some obvious weaknesses (can't do real push ups or unassisted pull ups yet), I was actually surprised at how well I did. Considering I haven't consistently done squats in about 6 months, I was able to do 5x95lbs (PR 3x115lbs in November 2018.) Though I haven't actually ran probably close to a year, yet I can still go for about 5 minutes before needing to take a break. Where I really surprised myself was being able to plank for a whole minute! The last time I tried (obviously a while ago) I could barely make it to 30 seconds. I'm really excited to see what kind of progress I can make in the next 8 weeks of this challenge.

Bench mark I placed on myself for my 1st novice powerlifting comp was a total of 270kg. BOY did I smash it today with a total of 307.5kg. It was a PERSONAL BEST on my lifts today. First off can I just say, I have visible ankles now (which many take for granted but I haven't had in probably 20 years) and I am getting traps that I've been working for as well as other muscles, baby for now but growing and at my age this is a HUGE thing. My journey started about 3 years ago. Well longer ago than that I suppose, but in earnest and with real goals about 3 years ago. I have had many stops along the way, losses and wins. I'm happy to say mostly wins. I have undergone some big changes recently culminating in some decisions being made that for now are the right ones for me. You do you, I do me and through mutual support everyone is happy. I'm still lifting heavy shit and progressing into my unknown future and I'm happy and definitely ok with that. Saturday night play time at my church. I’m currently working on fixing my hip recruitment pattern and focusing on developing my slow twitch muscles. Im doing this by dropping the weight down, lifting on a 3-4 beat up/down pattern, and slowing down my lifts in general. I’ve found that switching gyms has revived my energy about going to the gym and I’ve been consistently getting here 5 times a week.
