🌟🌟SMASHED IT🌟🌟 Look how many calories I’ve burned with my exercise! Soooo happy with today’s result seeing as i fell short yesterday. I walked nearly 11,000 steps today which burned just over 500cals and had a quick gym sesh which burned somewhere around the 300cals mark. I was mostly healthy with my food today minus my 4 squares of Lindt chocolate (which sent me over my daily calorie target 🥺) but considering all the running around I did deserved a lil something sweet 💁🏼‍♀️

Biceps session tonight ticked off, followed by some deadlifts. I haven't deadlift going to 2 -3 months now. Last time I deadlift I had little injury and I was advice to stay away from deadlift for a bit, after months of staying away, i had the balls tonight to go for it again!! I started with: * 100kg for 12reps * 120kg for 12reps * 140kg for 10reps * 160kg for 8reps * And finished with 180kg for 3 reps, which I was unhappy with. For the last 5 weeks, my Friday nights have been completely consumed by @crossfitgames Open. While the elite athletes were busy trying qualify for the Games, for many, many more of us ordinary, everyday CrossFitters, this is nothing short of a fitness festival. It’s a test of our current fitness level by putting us against the unknown and the unknowable. It brings the community together through the anticipation on Thursday night for announcements, the Friday Night Lights, and the many choice words thrown around during the workouts (😂). This is the first Open for me ever, two years into CrossFit. It’s about as messy, frustrating and imperfect as sports can get for me - HQ’s crazy programming, being the only scaled CrossFitter in my box, praying every week that I can do all the movements - but it’s also exciting, humbling and inspiring. I’ve witnessed my fellow Old Citizens smashing their goals and getting their firsts, and I hope that can be me one day. When @ddrewish (remotely) awarded me the Spirit of the Open in 19.5, he (through @theseanemery ) cited what I’ve said in the previous paragraph. It was a crazy experience, but that was also exactly why I got myself into it in the first place. I’m a tough love kinda of person. I complained the whole time, but only because I love this sport wholeheartedly and believe in what it stands for. I’m motivated by what I currently cannot do and am bad at, and that’s just who I am. Through (and despite of) my obsessive competitiveness and relentless prevention-focused personality, I can honestly say that I’m putting in the work and showing up, now more than ever. I’d come back, next year and beyond. Here’s to new goals and new PRs in a new (CrossFit) year. Here’s to being stronger, faster, and better. Because, you know, strong women always raise the bar. (Yes, I did forget to submit a score for 19.2, but I have the slip to prove that I did it. Got my steps and my workout out in today did the 1.4 trek to my local @planetfitness. I did a cycling between walking, sprinting, dancing and calisthenics. At the gym I did a quick 30 full body work out using the preweighted barbell and a bench. Finish off with some pull ups and caught an Uber home 😅 jk. . . . . . drip 💦 drop 💦 ever had such an awesome workout, where you actually see your sweat hit the floor? That just happened. 💪🏻 I had to go to the bathroom and wipe the sweat off, everywhere! Lol.. I was NOT feeling it today. I was talking to a friend while leaving work and she said, "I should be going to do what you're about to do." (going to the gym).. and I said, "I don't wana go. I haven't been feeling it this week. But I'm going to.. it'll pay off one day, right?!" I am proud of that mature response. Lol 😅 but really, I've realized that I've finally learned how to be disciplined. That's a huge accomplishment. So many people tell me they wish they have my motivation. It's not motivation - it's discipline. I wasn't motivated today. At all. I am just disciplined, so I show up, even when I don't want to. It wasn't until a good song came through my headphones did I start to get pumped.. just show up, guys. In order to lower it you have to approach it with the correct nutrition and exercise program, and what is the correct nutrition? The one you can sustain the longest without having a miserable journey! I’m a firm believer in flexible dieting and avoiding restrictive diets! Everything in moderation can be welcomed in a program. 2️⃣How many times a week you should train abs? Your abs are just another muscle group in your body! You don’t do legs every day so why are you looking to train abs every day? Training frequency has to be strictly related to the intensity of your workouts and your recovery after them. 2 times a week is more than enough if you are approaching it correctly. 3️⃣How many sets or reps should you do? This depends on your main goal of how you wanna look and how you wanna perform, as any other muscle if you put it under lots of stress and tension through resistance (adding weight to your moves) you will be pushing hypertrophy in the region and many of you don’t want a blocky core. _ 1️⃣First picture:: •I had an unhealthy relationship with food, feeling as though I could eat whatever I wanted because I’d always been skinny. 🤦🏽‍♀️_ • Socially smoked cigarettes, had little to no physical activity and terrible posture._ • Had a “Blame your problems on someone else additude”._ 2️⃣ Middle picture:: • About 6 months after I decided to stop smoking, start exercising, and try dieting. _ • Cut out basically all carbs and had no idea what a healthy balanced diet looked like, but I knew I was loosing weight. _ 3️⃣ Last picture:: • 4 whole years after that middle picture!! 🤯 • I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been, eat a well balanced diet, including carbs 🙌🏻. • My mindset is completely the opposite from where I started. I fully believe you are responsible for your actions and life, including your happiness. 💛💛 4️⃣ The point of this post:: • It. Takes. HAPPY MONDAY!! I was working all weeekend so it doesnt even feel like a Monday right now which i suppose is a good thing? 🤷🏻‍♀️ . Anyway heres a nice little chest/bicep workout for you all to try this week! . 4 sets for each: 1st set: 15 reps (warmup) 2nd & 3rd sets: 10 reps 4th set: FAILURE 😈 . Bench Press Smith machine pull ups & superset with body weight push ups - once you cant go regular, drop those knees and keep going!
