Everyone has strong feelings on the best way to compost and I am sure your way is better than mine and that’s fine. At the end of the day I just love not throwing away scraps that I know make the best dirt you can get.
The blue tote is what I store waste as it accumulates during the winter months. It got emptied into the bin above it now that the temps are up. The next one over is the compost from last year that I just turned. It looks ready in the picture but it still has a bunch of stuff to breakdown before use next summer. The buckets in the right temporarily hold the two year old compost until it can be worked into the garden.

“RUSTY” An earlier work of mine. Making these rusty steel canvases is my way of expressing our linguistic evolution. Does anyone feel that today writing skills are slipping by or better yet being replaced? We consume ourselves with so much technology we have unconsciously started to use abbreviations and emojis to answer one another quickly. Even when we type on our smart devices words are recognized and there’s an emoji above for the replacement of that word. Sometimes I love it and sometimes It just feels a bit rusty to me...
Happy Earth Day! Something we do here at home is compost. This small compost bin sits on the counter and it’s emptied periodically into our 37 gallon compost bin in the garden.
Composting can make a huge difference! Annual waste per person is 230lb. Food waste adds another 100lb. Do the math person in your household and you’ll see that’s a lot! We can reduce our waste total annual volume of waste by 35% if we compost...also known as letting it rot!
Do you compost at home? I’m happy to send links to anyone looking for our compost bins.

You’ll get to take home what you made as well as your knowledge to make it again! Ingredients are provided (Hence the 5$ fee) Thanks again to @themurrayhillbilly for opening up their spot for us to learn in. Their kitchen will be closed so do not come hungry! See ya there.
