Here’s the Great Barrier Reef from space - but rather than being monolithic, each reef that forms it has its own living story. Of these, unassuming Ellison Reef, near Bingil Bay, is perhaps one of the most culturally and politically important reefs in the world.
In collaboratively approaching a pavilion for Ellison Reef through our masterclass to tell the story of the Reef’s World Heritage status, which has been recently ignored to its detriment, participants have a chance to take part in and be credited for a work of high artistic excellence alongside noted architect Jose Ferrando, and to also attract international attention to the incredible story of artists and conservationists who formed John Büsst’s circle at Ninney Rise.
As well as our full 14 day Ninney Rise Masterclass, we also have a 3-Day Ninney Rise Intensive open to registered architects from July 5-8.
3-Day Ninney Rise Masterclass Intensive (for professional and registered architects only): $990 incl. GST
This three-day intensive is designed to cater to professional and registered architects seeking to challenge themselves through professional development. It includes shuttle from Cairns Airport to Bingil Bay, learning materials, workshops with Traditional Owners, site study at Ellison Reef (with option to do a full diving certificate), and a personal studio workshop with Josep Ferrando.
