Day 13 - Mclodeganj and Dharamshala
Woke up at 7am and started doing yoga, did 12 suryanamaskaras and some more asanas as the sun rose in front of us; it was magical. Took bath and went out for breakfast to have some Parantha and then we rented a bike for 800 bucks. We rode to Dharamshala to fill fuel and to get the hard copies of the cricket match tickets, it started raining on the way back and we felt that the match may be cancelled if the rain continues and it did it bits and pieces. Visited his holiness Dalai Lama Temple which was ok, on the way to Dal Lake we had Thupka a Tibetian Food which was yumm and when we reached Dal Lake and to our surprise there was no water there. On the way back we visited St. John's Church in the Wilderness and it was amazing with an abandoned church, a bell, many graves. Went back to the room to freshen up and then we started towards the cricket stadium. As we were ascending down the hill towards Dharamshala it started raining and we had our frown faces with frustration but hoping for the rain to stop. Mountains are with narrow roads and the city was packed with tourists, locals and people who were in to witness the match which led to traffic jam and the police diverted us to a different route. We somehow managed to find the parking area and parked our bike and walked towards the stadium. Because of the rain there was no proper pathway to walk through the gate, we had to walk in the mud, it was slippery and it was a horrible experience. HPCA needs to look into this and make proper pathway for people to walk in. By the time we got in it had stopped raining for 15mins but once we sat in our seats for 2mins it started drizzling again and then it poured and poured until 8pm and the match officials called of the match. We came to Dharamshala to witness the match in an environment surrounded by beautiful mountains. Weather played the spoilt sport and it was very frustrating since we were excited about this. We just came rode uphill to Mclodeganj to have dinner and we slept.
