On the first picture you can see how exactly the highest point of 214m looks like. Cowards like me just want to sit down and grab the grass.
What intrigued me, though, is that great deal of the path towards north is not fenced. There are warning signs, of course, and the path is, although fairly close to the edge, still on safe distance.
And it would be a shame to build walls all along this beautiful, mostly untouched coast.
But considering incomprehensible human behavior in recent times and their firm presumptions on immortality while capturing the perfect instagram pics, I wondered how many of them took a step too far.
Google came back with statistics of 66 deaths in period 1993-2017. It includes both accidents and suicides. As this is one of the most popular Irish attraction, with 1 million visitors per year, this number doesn't sound alarming. However, for 66 families life was never the same after that moment, so stay reasonable, careful and safe.
(On the last picture I am standing on the path above the stone plateau where people just love to take crazy pics. The same plateau is on the 2nd picture which shows the abyss under it. Don't do that.)
