Rainbow Mountain or (in Spanish) Montaña de Colores. 🌈
If I planned your trip to Peru , I'd not skip this place, for sure! There're many similar mountains, like in China, Argentina, but nothing better than in Peru! 🇵🇪
🤔 How hard is this hike?
- Very hard!😅 You'll be hiking on a height of 17,060 feet or 5,200 metres. It's higher than the height of my skydiving jump.😳 Chew Coca leaves and you'll be fine!👌
🤔How to visit this place?
- By taking a tour. Even though I don't ever prefer this way, but that's the only option. It's either you purchase a private tour or a group tour. My opinion: don't waste money on a private tour. By taking a group tour, you'll be hiking to the top anyway on your own. People will be everywhere. I saw our guide only during the breakfast, lunch (meals are included) and in a bus. We were told to be back in a bus by 12:30. So it's up to you if you want to take your time, or just get to the top faster than your group does, take pictures and still have extra time to visit Red Valley (I'd totally recommend it).
🤔 How much does it cost?
- It's again up to you. I visited probably over 10 agencies in Cusco and asked their prices. Make sure it includes the entrance! I paid 70 soles (it's about $20). Don't purchase this tour online, it will cost you much more! .
TIP OF THE DAY: wear hiking clothes and shoes (nothing too fancy, it will be all in dust), take gloves with you (I didn't and I barely felt my hands at the end☃️).
