ICYMI: Prints of this painting are in my shop, and 50%+ of the profits will be going to the @rainforestactionnetwork ! .
Working on this painting was such a joy, even though there were definitely some moments where I really wanted my desk back and wanted to be done with it. Even though I already love plants and animals and nature (as you all probably already know, based on my favorite subjects to paint), painting this particular piece really helped remind me of the magic of mother earth when I was feeling sad or blue or anxious. I have an anxiety disorder and for me, it's so easy to get caught up in the ride of everyday life and be mad and frustrated and stressed out, which is why it's so so so important for me to remember to step back and take a look at the world around me and appreciate all the things I have. And I am definitely so grateful every day that I get to live in a progressive society, in a home with my basic needs met, in a world where the kids are marching for their rights (oh my god, the kids these days are incredible), in a world where we still have incredible plants and animals to look at and to love, in a world where there are people who dedicate their lives to saving it. So let's do our part! 🤗 .
Can you tell I had a lot of wandering thoughts while painting this? LOL. If you read this far, leave a little 💖 below! 😘
