If love is essentially freedom, and money carries with it the ability to grant freedom in the physical realm, money can therefore be considered a manifestation, or vehicle of love.
In a variety of ways it has been said that "money is the root of all evil."
Yet, how could something whose sole purpose is to both enable us and grant us freedom be intrinsically evil?
The simple answer is, that is isn't...it fundamentally can't be.
Just as with almost everything else in life, it is not the thing itself which is necessarily "good" or "bad", "right" or "wrong", "conscious" or "unconscious", "virtuous" or "evil", so much as it is our relationship to, and our own use of that thing that renders any of these value judgments or qualifiers even remotely valid in a relative sense.
Ultimately, anything that we'd be justified in labeling as "bad", "wrong", "unconscious" or "evil", has its root in fear.
Such is the case for money as well.
We can thus easily conclude that it isn't money that is the root of all evil, but rather our fear with respect to money that is evil.
This particular flavor of fear manifests itself in a variety of forms including greed, jealousy and selfishness...and even, perhaps not so obviously, in such forms as frivolity, extravagance and carelessness. For, if we fear something, do we not seek to avoid it, repel it or expel it from our lives?
Many of us have an unhealthy and unconscious relationship with money simply because we don't understand what money actually is.
We've allowed the corrosively compound effect of cultural conditioning as well as our own intrinsic, primordial fear of survival to distort our perception of, and relationship to, money.
Many of us consistently operate from a place of lack, scarcity and deficit, thereby engaging with money in ultimately unconscious ways.
