When you meditate, you become aware of a pure peaceful presence which is your true nature. You begin to identify with that Pure Being instead of your personality traits and habits. You recognise those characteristics and habits as just that; that they are within your capacity to change if they cause suffering. And then, every time you feel overwhelmed by the happenings in life or around you, you just need to close your eyes, turn your attention inwards and sense that calm presence. #yoga #meditation #yoganidra #swamirama #himalayanyogameditation #himalayanyogatradition #yogameditation #yogadubai #meditationdubai #whatisyoga #yogaissamadhi #spirituality #workingin #inwardfocus #love #worship #divinebeing #divinity #namaste #mind #breath #selfrealization #self -discovery #yogadaily #dailypractice #swamivedabharati #calmmind #tranquilmind #yogainspiration #nilayahouse

The more we continue to lead self seeking, individualised lives, the further away from the truth we move. Yoga creates that bridge for our individualities to merge with the plurality of the universe. The divinity in the cosmos is no different in all living things, we just are clouded by the "colours" of personalities and egos. Let's learn to respect the divinity in all things, the yogi knows that harming others and the environment is harming thyself. #yoga #yogaeveryday #yogaoffthemat #yogi #yogisofinstagram #yogainspiration #yogaphilosophy #yogascience #yogaeverywhere #islandyogi #himalayanyogatt #trinidadyogis #atman #maya #samadhi #bliss #selfrealisation #breathe #pranayama #meditation #dhyana #dharana #himalayanyogatradition #himalayanyoga #hoover #hooverdam #memorialbridge

In my 16 years of teaching yoga I have been asked so many times to make videos for my students. I have wanted to for a long time but always feel something is not right; the lighting, the background (too messy, not yoga), I’m in my pajamas 😂. It’s always one issue or another. Well, lately I have been putting effort into making this happen. So here is my first attempt. I would appreciate suggestions on lighting, camera placement etc from those in the know. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this moon salutation and will practice often. Remember your practice does not need to be an hour or have any special requirements other than being present and moving. Now get up and use the body you have before it’s too late to use fully. #yogahomepractice #yogaeveryday #yogafun #yogaeverywhere #yogaflow #yogaeveryday #hathayoga #himalayanyogatradition #openlygray #projectageless

Karma is a Sanskrit word which means “action” or “work.” It derives from the root verb kri, which means “to act.” As a concept, therefore, karma can refer to all the actions a person makes, both with their body and in their mind. All activity creates karma unless the action comes from a seedless, or desire-less state. Then these actions no longer produce more karma, they simply play out with no more karma being incurred by the seedless entity who propagated them. The key is to act from this seedless, or desire-less place and giving up the desire for the fruits of our labors. Yoga is seen as one way to free oneself from the cycle of karma, and to find freedom in complete liberation from karma and the cycle of death and rebirth.

Each obstacle in our path is an opportunity to work to remove them, as well as to learn something about ourselves. Maybe gaining clarity on an old pattern, or samskara, that is pervasive in our life; or maybe discerning new subtleties that exist around a person or situation. Yoga and all of its practices helps us by giving us tools for discovering ourselves - our true nature. Tools for strengthening our instruments of discernment. What is wrong for one person may be right for another. That is why there are so many different paths to yoga, or union with the divine source. All we can do is put the practices in the body, see how they feel, and if they are effective for us and our spiritual journey or not.

Join us THIS WEEKEND for systematic instruction in the mindful practice of meditation! Classes are taught by center founders Charles Crenshaw, M.S., M.Div.W and Carol Crenshaw, M.S. Charles and Carol have been practicing meditation for over thirty years each and teaching for over twenty years each, were directly trained by the renowned meditation master, and master of yoga science Sri Swami Rama. Many people try to meditate after reading books but don’t generally succeed. This is because the method may not be systematic and because there is no teacher to provide proper instruction in mindful breathing, relaxation, proper posture and, most importantly, working with the mind. Taking a class will allow you the opportunity to be observed and corrected where needed, and to have your questions answered. “Tamas”, the third guna, represents undifferentiated material - the clay an artist uses to form their pottery. Tamas also represents impurity, laziness, and darkness. It is the consequence of ignorance. Tamas can be an obstacle that prevents all beings from seeing reality. Decreasing tamas in the body through diet is possible by eating light vegetables, less ghee and dairy products. Practice this: What inert energy, or obstacle, are you encountering in your life?

Yoga is healing and therapeutic if practiced as the word “yoga” means. When there is a union of the mind, body and spirit, conflicts are resolved through working our way inwards. Most of our struggles and suffering are because we look for the peace, harmony and happiness outside when a door within needs to be opened. It requires dedication and discipline in practice and what is then revealed is long-standing and unaffected by the storms outside. #yoga #meditation #yoganidra #himalayanyogameditation #himalayanyogatradition #yogameditation #yogadubai #meditationdubai #whatisyoga #yogaissamadhi #spirituality #workingin #inwardfocus #love #worship #divinebeing #divinity #namaste #mind #breath #selfrealization #self -discovery #compassion #yogadaily #dailypractice #swamivedabharati #tranquilmind #yogainspiration #truth #nilayahouse

“Rajas”, the second of gunas, is the element of fire and activity. It also has to do with our anger, passion for life and creation itself. It is the most active guna in society today which is the cause of so much disharmony. Decreasing rajas can be helped by decreasing spicy foods, and stimulants such as caffeine. As well as eating creamy, cooling foods such as yogurt and cucumbers. Practice this: What element of rajas do you notice occurring in your daily life?

There are 3 gunas of ayurveda in which are universal energies that are ever present in a flux. "Sattva” is the quality of goodness, truth, clarity, and love. It brings joy, health and healing. When we feel calm, clear, and peaceful, Sattva is the dominant energy. Speaking our truth, and allowing our actions to match our words is as aspect of sattva. Practice this: What within your personal experience would you define as sattva?

#yoga #yogapisa #himalayanyogatradition #socialmedia #sadhana #rajayoga #quotes #pisa #kohamstudio #koham #shiatsu #shiatsupisa #hadoshiatsu

Feeling in the shallow? E poi i tuoi sensi vorranno chiudersi in modo spontaneo. ~Swami Veda Bharati #himalayanyogatradition #yoga #yogapisa #meditazione #meditazionepisa #swamivedabharati #swamirama #himalayanyogainstitute #rajayoga #quotes #kohamstudio #koham

Feng shui is the art of setting space for the best energy possible. Many traditions practice rituals of burning incense for different reasons. The theory is that good smells bring good energy and bad smells bring the like. Smell is often an overlooked aspect of feng shui. Along with sight, touch, taste, and sound, smell is just as important in setting up sacred space. Today, during your practice, give an offering of scent in some way. Honor your practice for at least 30 seconds every day to create a sustainable daily practice. Namaskar

Swami Rama was known for his posture, both of his torso and vertebra in his neck; always walking around with his chin up, not because he was full of himself, but because it aligns the entire spine, in turn, aligning the energetic channels inside and outside of the body. Sadhguru says a good yogi can tell what ailments a person is likely to suffer from now and in life by their body posture. Today, practice being mindful of your spine all the way from your tailbone to the crown of your head. Breathing in and out of your nose, let your belly expand on the inhale and relax back towards the spine on the exhale. This practice can be done seated, with the eyes closed, or standing, with the eyes open. Commit to 30 seconds every day to sustain a regular daily practice. Namaskar 🙏

Many sages have spoken about this unity. We call these individuals Holy because they are whole. No longer having desires. Fully immersed in their their union and constant relationship feeling fully supported and held at all times. The word "human" is derived from the Latin word "hum" which means earth or ground. This is where the word "humble" originated as well, being that the ground is lower than all things. The Arabic word Hu means God. Our Unity and full immersion is the foundation of our being. To recognize this all one must do is just Be... Today, sit or stand somewhere where you feel safe doing so and practice "Just Being." Start with 30 seconds at first to aid in creating a sustainable daily practice. Namaskar
